For those who don't know, a symbol very similar to the Triskelion is the central focus in the flag of Sicily:
I knew that the symbol, which we Italians call "Trinacria", had Ancient origins but I didn't expect it could be so important.
Obviously, if you look into other mainstream sources they give this symbol a whole different and more materialistic meaning.
Supposedly, the head is Medusa's, and the wheat was added in Roman times to simbolyze Sicily's fertility as a huge source of wheat for the Roman Empire.
I also just now notice the lack of wings at the feet, which basically removes the Hermes symbolism.
Just thought it was interesting to point out.
