Senua, Goddess and Game?

So there’s a video game series called Hellblade and the main character is a pict named Senua. They’re releasing a sequel in a few days. The game, according to the making of bonus feature is based on an archeological discovery made which tells of a Celtic Goddess named Senua whom was once human but ascended to Godhood. The game is meant to be a depiction of how she did that. In the first game the player his to “fight the Gods” but the narrator and the main character herself even expressly state that in actuality they are following the Gods to learn from them and become mighty like they are, and that the “fighting them” is just a symbolic depiction of overcoming challenges and trials that particular deity requires them to overcome.

The boss fight is epic and there’s a cool allegory about how you must accept reality and leave ignorance behind.
So Senua ends up in Helheim trying to bring her decapitated fiancé back to life, so she duels Hel and the fight literally just keeps going indefinitely with Hel having infinite health and her health refilling and the fight restarting every time Senua demands to have him back and for things to be her way. When you just stop eventually a cutscene plays where Senua breaks down, accepting reality, and then Hel helps heal her and show her the truth. That’s how I remember it anyway.

It’s made by a small studio called Ninja Theory.

I think it’s also worth to state that all of the events of the first game actually take place while she’s in a trance/vision quest induced by a dude that the English call “Druth” because his spiritual knowledge makes him look “crazy”

Because it was based lol

The sequel is lame though, I would recommend it. It has Better graphics and gameplay but none of the depth.

Also in the first game it’s shown pretty clearly that literally nothing good happens from challenging the Gods and that the Gods cannot be forced to do things your way. Only by accepting the reality and truth of the Gods can you prosper and truly heal.

That’s how I see it anyway.

I dunno what to say. From what I've heard the development team is considered "mediocre". Perhaps it has some "satanic" elements in it, but I'm not 100% convinced to look into it more than games made in Asia.
Japanese games are easily the most based at this time. I thought this one was worth mentioning because it’s exceedingly based for a western game, even though definitely not perfect.

They ruined the sequel though. Turned it into flashy “Muh trauma” feminist crap.

It’s the first one that is solid.

Someone made a YouTube video about this amazing graphics game and he said that the studio Ninja Theory made Hellblade in short time and low numbers of employees and just with that they made a game with amazing graphics and amazing story, in a much shorter time than what other studios would take.
Based on how hate it got and from what I understood, the other game companies didn't like that so maybe maybe some other game companies and studios are behind this hatred. Not sure.

The first game definitely deserves praise, I actually played the second game also, and though the second game has better graphics and gameplay, the second game is very poor by comparison. The studios and other people talk about the second game being amazing because of course they do. It has no depth.
