let's say that a person who has never really and consistently practiced meditation and magick discovers that just by stopping doing a lot of stupid and hindering things and so being in more optimal energetic conditions he is able to do some advanced things and make things happen in real time just with thought and willpower

retrograde planets, void of moon, can they still interfere? is it always essential to take these things into account anyway? do all existing universal rules still and always apply to such a person?

is the natural survival instinct and the consequence of the lack of control of all this the reason why one gets scared and wants to go back to bad habits to avoid this?

1. Always take into account Nature, whether it be planets, VOCs, or astrological ages (ETC). Only the Gods are above these things, and even they must respect these things when necessary.

2. You're not in reality avoiding these things. They are still in effect, but you choose to remain ignorant of them instead. The natural survival instinct is actually running in contradiction to bad habits, for most bad habits are bringing you closer to death. As for a lack of self control, yes that is a factor of poor decision making, which leads to fear of yourself, others, the world, and the universe.
