Of course I am not referring to the madness of having pets, which I am against, it is against nature and deviates you. Humans with humans, and beasts with beasts, like whites with whites, and blacks with blacks.
Looking at customs such as cattle blessing rituals, I can say that it is just an acknowledgement to cows (example, but not only), for 'surrendering' to our will. Now their cycle of existence is hopeless, they are a slave species, we steal their milk we kill them for their meat and to produce X materials, we kill their children for the same reasons. We only do them the courtesy of treating them well in the process and giving them recognition. This relationship does not make them sacred, but the symbolism of abundance that we have related to them is.
From the Joy of Satan, written by High Priestess Maxine:
"ANIMALS ARE SACRED IN SATANISM!
DOMESTICATED ANIMALS ARE A SPECIAL GIFT TO HUMANITY FROM OUR GODS. ALL ANIMALS SHOULD BE TREATED WITH CONSIDERATION AND RESPECT!
THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO SATAN.
The Serpent, the Peacock and the Raven are sacred to Satan, himself.
Cats are sacred to Lilith, Bastet and to many of our Gods. Cats were revered in Ancient Egypt. Dogs are also very sacred. Anubis is the Patron Demon of Dogs. Lilith is the Patron Demoness of Owls. Thoth is represented by an Ibis, and there are many more of our Gods who have their important symbols represented by animals."
In Spiritual Satanism, life is certainly held sacred and upheld as sacred, this includes animals, which certainly are sacred in Spiritual Satanism.
Spiritual Satanism is in harmony with nature, not only the individual life, but also the relationship between life is understood and respected as much as the life itself, held sacred, which includes the need for certain species to hunt/eat other species to grow, survive and be in the best health. Sacredness, showing respect and being in harmony with nature are not mutually exclusive things.
Life is build like this, we do not reject the natural laws and existence over self imagined ethics, as the nature itself is what we are to hold highest and understand for what it is.
Unnecessary cruelty, senseless killing or torment, blood sacrifice, and an approach of pure exploitation without the aforementioned respect we are to be against vehemently.
Our species being as evolved as we are compared to other more primitive, less developed species, means there are natural evolutions that take place, such as instead of being limited to hunt for food, we can domesticate lesser species and keep them under us for various purposes, not limited only to food, but also to enrich our lives or to help us in other ways (cats for example were originally domesticated to help deal with pests to us humans like rats, or to eliminate other dangers such as venomous snakes and scorpions from villages).
To the Gods, many species are sacred, and thus need to be treated with respect, this however is within reason, as we should not do so at the expense of our own life or existence, but in harmony with life itself.
If one finds themselves cornered by a venomous snake, and the way to survive is to kill the snake, one needs to do what needs to be done, nothing wrong here. Same if one is endangered by a vicious dog.
These species that were domesticated develop along side us, and also change and evolve with us, there is a symbiotic relationship that forms between species. There are however more and less ethical ways to treat and keep domesticated animals, such as cattle or pigs in the modern meat industry which is a wrong way of doing this, there is no semblance of any harmony or symbiotic existence here, no aforementioned respect or care in any way, just a pure exploitation, which goes too far to one extreme.
This does not mean however that the Gods would look negatively upon you for consuming meat, as this is not within your control at all, and this is necessary to be in good health. All things are looked at in a balanced way, from the highest perspective by them.
If one operates such an industry themselves however, one is in a position to do things better and to set a higher ethical standard, likely at the expensive to your own profits, however there certainly are ways one can do this without negatively impacting one's own livelihood, in which case if one is an SS, they should try their best for this, to set a higher standard and be harmonious in the approach to life as a whole.
Certainly there is nothing wrong or strange about having pets either. Animals have been companions to humans for thousands of years, the animals protect us as we protect them, we live in mutual respect and appreciation with them, however this only works because of the relative difference in our development and evolution as species. Humanity is uniquely positioned on the Earth to be able to exist in complete harmony with all other species, to understand them, to care for them, to form bonds with them that other species can't.
It is natural for us to have bonds with the lesser developed life on the Earth, this benefits the other species as well and creates a stronger bond to the Earth as a whole between our species and the natural life in existence.
It is uniquely in human nature to appreciate the other natural life, build bonds with the creatures of the Earth and live harmoniously with them.
The Gods too keep animals, literally, as many Gods would appear alongside animals when summoned, this shows too that animals can then also evolve and advance on an individual level, as familiars to humans and as companions even to the Gods.
The sacredness is not only in symbolism, instead the symbolism comes from the sacredness that these different life forms are held to.
Having a pet is different from living in a multicultural society with other human races, the fundamental difference here is in the relative difference between species, the animals become part of the society they find themselves in, and coexist symbiotically, the diversity of life is not at risk here, and the natural laws are not disrupted.
The souls of these beings are even changed and adapted to this coexistence, they still are their own existence, the harmony of life is not disrupted, it becomes an extension instead that is only possible alongside the existence of an advanced species.
Far from being beasts, these animals are changed into a different form that coexists harmoniously with the advanced species that domesticated them. These things are part of nature, a consequence of one life form reaching a certain level of evolution to be able to do this.
