Totally. It is not just this. A lot of dutch people that lived here since birth are actually against the immigration policies, yet a lot of people with a more "humanitarian" mindset will keep voting for the other parties. Not the more national inclined ones.

The Netherlands has been and still is mostly a capitalistic country. Everything is privatized, and businesses are tax exempt for a big part of it.

There is some system that can help you live on at povery line, as a citizen, but even that doesn't make ends meet for some people.

As things are now, there is almost no middle class anymore. There are only the poor and a few very rich people, like 1.5% of the dutch population or so, if I remember what I heard correctly.
