A promise bound by blood - A poem

I come with the deepest respect to serve my people and thee

for I come in service not how Xians grovel, and bow, and plea

but as a warrior doth bend his knee.

I pledge this oath to be your humble student, to honor you as the father of my creation, with love and respect and commitment.

To follow your ways through gentle streams or rushing currents,

Through the merry breeze or the mighty hurricane,

Down the peaceful hills quite and sound, or down through shaking, and quaking grounds.

Through the fire of celebration or the fires of war.

I stand brave and determined for nothing can fail, when we fight, and learn, and dance, with love in our hearts by your guidance and light.

I come as a child, a student, and a warrior with trust in my heart filled with your wonder.

I embrace the cup of your knowledge and breath into my soul the excellence of your truth.

I will uphold balance, and justice by your ways.
I will be a conduit for all of these things, for all of my days.

My soul to thee I bare
I will graciously accept your blessings

For the chance you have given me
nothing can compare.

Just today. It really came together when I was reflecting on truly what an oath means. Truly what we are saying when we've dedicated in the past, and I was hoping by putting it form of a poem it would remind those who have made these promises that feeling of wonder and perhaps inspire those who have yet to dedicate, truly the bliss you can experience from this kind of decision and what it truly stands for.
