A Message on the Ocean - a poem

Gentle wind combing through my hair
A sight to see in this quiet open air
All the wondrous things waiting for me
But nightmares follow me even here

Ocean waves crashing at my feet
Breaking the rocks apart into the sea
My heart is screaming out “No more lies!
I’ve had enough, let me feel alive!”

A message in a little wine bottle is carried to me
And it reads so cleanly:

“Darling let your wings spread wide
Fly above the clouds so high
Far above the raging blue tide
Until you reach the Kingdom in the sky

I know that your feathers are worn
I know that your clothes are torn
I know that your throat is filled with stone
But I know you and I know you can rise

So believe in me, and trust in me
I am here, come reach out to me
You are here as long as I am here
And that is forever, do you hear?

I’m calling to you in a rich old tune
My light will guide you all the way through
So believe me, and trust in me
Your soul is home with me and free.”
