Why is there not a edit button

I made a typo on my last post and have no way to change it. Can that change because I feel embarrassed and can someone change it

We do not want users to make threads where they have some generally agreeable point, and then later edit the post to say something negative, like an attack. Then it appears that all the posts responding to the OP are in agreement with what was said.

What if there was also a feature/button that allows you to see if it was edited + see the previous edits/writings themselves?

Yeah, not out of the realm of possibility.

It would be a pain to have to go through all the versions of a message. One can just reply to their own message, correcting any typos. It's that simple.

Not every member can delete their own message, nor should they be able to.

We normies can't delete our posts either, Which is still reasonable.

Maybe it would make sense for people to be able to edit or delete their posts, but it needs to be approved.

Just have to be careful when posting.

There is no need to put extra workload on moderators.

For many years and for many thousands of posts, all of my posts have needed to be approved too. Everybody will earn this in time. Until then, you can click the Report button and write in the description there the request for what you would like to be edited.

I think HPS Lydia said that even mods cannot edit user's posts, only their own. One can ask the post to be deleted though with the report function and then rewrite it like you said.
