Visualization vs imagination question.

In my experiences there are "2 type of visualization", one which is imaginary, and one which you see in front of you.

The imaginary is like as you imagine right now a horse with a person riding it, the actual visualization is when you see in front of you something, like when you look at something for a long time and it burns in your retina.

The actual visualization is hard to do and as I conclude, it isn't useful for all situation. When I meditate, I mostly use imagination, although it is almost like visualization. I imagine a ball of light entering in my crown chakra and it pushes all dirt out, but I do not visualize in front of my eyes, I imagine this but I also see it in some sense.

You can also do both with open eyes and closed eyes. I do it open eyed because I have a little lamp that helps me imagine light. With closed eyes, because of my eyelid, it turns a bit gray so I do it open eyed.

I'm just curious if you use visualization or imagination for cleaning, empowering, etc.. Or am I wrong? I'm confused about this, because it looks like you can also combine the two.

One night when I was trying to sleep, I started seeing the sky with a lot of stars. I was seeing it in front of me, like if my visualization would be really good. So was it astral seeing? Is astral seeing the 3rd one besides visualization and imagination?

One other thing is that, I imagine sitting in infinite black and Satan's sigil in front of my, with blue fire. Than I switch to visualization, so that I really try to see his image in front of me, and that is obviously way more harder, I can hard see some lines, sometimes his sigil comes to gether but it is hard. So that is why I concluded that there is 'two type of visualization'.

Am I right? Which one you use? I know I should better my visualization, that's why I practice the above, but clearly I could not do my whole meditation with visualization

Imagination is an "action" not "real." "Visualization" is a "real action."

The difference is that imagination does not have an "influence" on the female part of the astral body. "Visualization" does. The "touching," "feeling," "seeing," with visualization and your astral senses, you have an impact with your feminine part of the astral body.

Manifestation is this process. In extremely advanced states, both parts of the astral body, feminine and masculine, merge, and you "reach out" to the Soul. The female part "passes" to the conscious level.

The power of manifestation in this way is "immediate." In some "texts," the God "Ptah" created a city by thought alone.

In altered mental states, as in your case, one can see the astral or the various dimensions/layers. Through the appropriate chakras.

I've asked this before.

But are the people who read and reply to this thread.

Do they ever get flashes of imagination that actually appears in their vision. If so does that mean the imagination has intent? Or like the second poster imagination is non-intent function of the mind/brain and simply a visual delight in fantasizing.

I assume the Gods are so advanced that yes they fantasize and talk to themselves i.e. self-contemplation/reflection. To which they can turn on the juice and intent visualization.

I think too many people confuse visualization with imagination. When I imagine and someone describes a magickal working like cleaning I see a glorious scene. The second I sit down and copy the scene it becomes totally murky and almost like washed out blacked out hardly visible.

I've asked before but sometimes more often than not. When the Sun is outside in a shiny, bright day. My visualization improves I feel better visualizing.

Where I live we have darkness forming from cloudy Sunshine. So it's light out and I can see but everything is diminutive from the clouds.

Like I said I notice my visualization becomes worse. I noticed over the years that I visualize better with my eyes open than closed.

When closed I see darkness but I think it's the need to develop the 3rd eye. I think once the 3rd eye is manifesting in the darkness colors, shapes, images. I think that is when closed-eye visualization is improved.

Still it's an interesting science imagination vs visualization.

I think this question lies in a form of fear, not out of fear of power, but fear of manifesting something. I know Blitzkrieg told a reply to a thread I posted that void isn't meant to turn you in a zombie devoid of thought. But I believe he meant also rather to amplify the qualities internal mechanisms of magick and powers of the soul.

It's a very interesting question. Probably requires the Hands of the Gods to answer as they actively employ visualization and magick.

Again my only issue is my imagination is awesome and the thoughts I get are incredible.

...one problem: How do I get this awesome imagination to work on my soul and improve it if visualization is a component of energy raising and affirming i.e. directing.

It seems to me like visualization requires a deeper advancement than we can think of it. It depends on the person but I assume void, trance, single-pointed concentration, and mindfulness are needed to carve out the visual prowess.

Interesting, thank you.

I wanted to write a proper post about this but I really don't have the time to do it now. The short answer is, by definition visualization simply means "the formation of mental visual images".

There is really only one way to do this, but you can give it many different names: daydreaming, meditation, memory recall, etc. It's all "visualization" just by a different name.

In order to visualize properly you must be relaxed and not make a big deal about it. The sigil example you have is excellent.

If I asked you right now to recall the face of your mother, you can do it instantly and in perfect detail. Have you ever asked yourself why or even wondered how you can accomplish this? Do you painstakingly try to draw each and every facial feature, or do you just relax and let your mind sort it out?

This also deals with the conscious and subconscious minds. The subconscious mind is infinitely more powerful. It is responsible for managing all of your body's functions perfectly and it does it automatically.

When you try really hard to visualize, like with energy work, meditating on a sigil, the harder you try to picture it in your mind the worse your result will be. You must practice the exact opposite. Relax and let the image come together on its own.

You know what your chakras look like, in order to mentally draw a God sigil you know what that looks like too, so you don't need to try harder and harder, you must relax and let your subconscious take over.

There is also an aspect of self-esteem to this, as you need a certain amount of confidence in yourself to do this right. If you belive yourself incapable, that's how you will act.

I hope that answers your question.

What you said reminds me a little of Gestalt Psychology—how we usually process from the top-down rather than the bottom-up, such as reading or looking at a painting. It's interesting how visualization, in the way you described it, is like top-down.

Thank you, your articles are always helpful.

Exactly lol.
I have a fear of invoking gray energy, because I can see gray clouds when closing the eyes. I use a desk lamp for this reason, but recently I try to turn it off and go without that. Sometimes I can "imagine" (but as Power of Justice says, it is still a kind of visualization) light, that is kind of enough. I think you have to practice this a lot with patience, in a relaxed state to advance this ability. Also, I think empowering the chakras, feeding them with energy is the other key to this, but the main key is definitely the first one, practicing it.

So we suppose to visualize more then we imagine which one is better?
In 99% of cases, it's better to visualise in first-person perspective/POV.

If necessary, take the time to relax and very slowly "build" a "scene" whilst incorporating as many sensory detail's as possible into the visualisation.
