Hello Brothers and Sisters,
I have a simple request for help with some specific calming breathing exercises that might help with my tourette syndrome that I've had since I was a teenager. It's not the verbal swearing type, just mostly tics that I can live with, though they are aggravating in a specific way.
You see, when I have these tics, they cause me to stop breathing in a normal pattern and this has been going on for years. Its worrisome because I havent had a steady flowing breathing pattern for a while now and that's the aggravating part. Sometimes I literally have to stop after the tics and catch my breath for a few seconds before I can continue with what I'm doing. I figure if I can use and try some specific breathing exercises to maybe calm the tics, then the breathing will fall into place. I've seen a specialist who recommended certain drugs that would calm me down, but don't wanna go down that path.
I function well enough to work 8 hour shifts at a shop I've been at for 30+ years. Everyone there knows my condition and understands, so that's not an issue for me.
I'm worried about my breathing and is it eventually gonna cause lack of oxygen problems.
I honestly appreciate whatever you can give, so thanks in advance.
Father Satan is with you all.
