Is there a definitive post that explains the difference between Spirit and Soul?

I have been looking but couldn't find a satisfying answer, anyone who has some insight it would be most appreciated.

I can tell you how I think it is, but I can be wrong.

I perceive the spirit as something higher than the soul, like a higher octave of the soul, higher in frequency, like a life force. A persistent vital heat.

The soul is linked to the spirit. The soul is the thoroughness of the spirit. The soul is linked with the spiritual body and the spirit. Like, the effectiveness of matter on the spirit is the soul.
The spirit, lead by the soul which gives the plan, is what brings to life the body.

Thank-you for your reply, my conception is Spirit gives birth to Soul and empowers Soul. I also speculated there divine gender as Soul(SOL)Sun and Spirit(Shakti)Moon, yet at the same time they are one.

Your answer definitely shed some light on my confusion and it makes much sense. Thank you again.
