So I’m curious about just how much influence the Vikingr had on the saxons during the age. Obviously there’s fake history out the ass, but I’ve had this feeling that many saxons converted to Asatru and that the Danes had many Saxon puppet kings who became Secretly pagan but pretended to be xtian openly so the peasants and other nobles wouldn’t revolt with the Northman basically running their kingdoms behind the scenes is there any truth to that?

I'm not sure about the Vikings and Saxons specifically, but yes, many rulers were in the occult and knowledgeable, probably pagan, while pretending to be xians so the people would not revolt.

If that’s true then surely my intuition about the Viking age is true. I’ve had this feeling that the official history didn’t add up. The Vikings show up to England, raid their kingdoms, take their Riches, decimate their armies, and burn down the churches but end up converting to Xtianity as a result? No. That’s not how victory works lol
