I am completely oposite to you, I don't add anyone that I don't know IRL. There is only one exception and that is a trusted Satanist I am close to. I use facebook for keeping in touch with friends. I'm not interested in meeting people or making new friends. This is not what I use it for.

The point I was getting across is that it is very unusal behaviour to be stalking someone like that. I am aware that it happens, and that really nothing online these days can be hidden. But we are Spiritual Satanists, and we respect eachother's privacy. Going to someone's profile without their permission is not what we're about. And I for one am strongly against it.

Well, if it's a big issue, you can always make your profile "private" to the point that only your friends can see your information. But it's honestly not going to keep people from learning things about you. Like you said, nothing online can be hidden. So imo the only way to keep people from looking up your fb and making sure you're walking your talk (especially on a board like this where we HAVE to be careful of people) is to erase your fb entirely and change your phone number every year. Otherwise, it's gonna happen. I don't know how long you've been a member of this group, (I haven't been on here long myself), but from our senior members, I've learned infiltrators are a big problem. I'm sure somebody has looked me up when I first joined. Imo, it's similar to getting your ID checked before walking into a bar. It's just going to happen. The bouncer doesn't care about your info, they're just there to ensure you're supposed to be where you're going. I don't see it as a huge deal, but then again not much that people do or say gets me riled up.

I agree I don't think we should be judging someone this way by what they say on a facebook page. My friends think I am wiccan. Satan says not to reveal his name if it puts us in trouble. In some countries your life could be at risk especially if they also find out you are anti jew which can be even worse for you. If people know you are with Joy Of Satan it is not hard for them to realise you are anti jew and in some countries this is also illegal.

I understand where you're coming from about the 'background checks' ect. But this isn't a part of Satanism nor is it something the clergy takes part of (at least as far as stalking someone's social media accounts). I've been for just over 5 years so I know the kinds of people that pop up. And I also know that sooner or later these people slip up and expose themselves. Further more, I've noticed more and more of us are learning to be able to tell right from the get go who is true and who is not.

But that isn't my concern. My concern is respecting other's privacy. As a Satanist, I respect other people's privacy and find it rude to go stalking someone's personal accounts. Yes I agree, if you don't want someone doing it, then set your acount to private. But its still a thing of respect. At least when it comes to a fellow Satanist.

The problem I had origionally was this person was going out of there way to find something to point out. Specifically looking around to find if someone isn't telling it all true, just to call them out. Luckily I havent heard from the finger pointer since.

Oh and yeah I am totally relaxed about privacy online and offline what people think about me etc not trying to get into an arguement with anyone I learn to for the most part not engage just I am relaxed and live life I am not taking part in all this emotionalism true I know what is safe and what is not but I am for one not going to waste time people don't really honestly like my way either I know that for a fact and I know I am ignored a lot but who cares I am strong I don't need that I am actually really at peace with myself and nothing bad has happened related to Satanism and I have had some really positive results in my life that is what matters no reason to argue with anyone about anything I value differences and people being themselves above all around me especially offline.
