I recently discovered in a post that the Sun rules the muscles and I'd like to try to increase my physical strength by 4X.
That's not absurd, in fact, it should be the normal level of physical strength for someone of my age, not to mention that it would be a great help.

I just don't want to waste time, so I'd like to know what level I need to be at for this kind of work to really work?
Like increasing physical strength, increasing wealth, or solving a short-term problem, like an exam or test?

Well, that's it

Sorry for the second message above, but I'd like to read some accounts of people who have managed to do this kind of magic successfully or almost successfully.

Perhaps there are only a few...

______

We are not yet Gods, so we don't have the true capacity of the icognizant mind. Taking this into account, I believe that the Gods must, for the most part, allow or drive the work of humans.

Apart from the physical actions you can do, spiritually the Sun square and Mars square are suitable for muscular strength. They both have different detailed effects.

When we want to change the physical with magic, we also need to take action materially. Energy needs a direction to manifest.

Getting four times stronger might take years of work depending on your initial state and innate potential. With magick this process can be hastened and likewise, your initial state and innate abilities, plus compounding development will play a role. Go for it, but I suggest that you use more avenues than the Sun alone.

Thank you very much for the clarification and realism.
I'm going to do some research on diets and specific types of training to increase strength, and merge that with some various 120-day workouts.

Adding to the previous post, please learn the fundamentals of human biology. Once you have some sort of understanding of how bodily functions work and what their respective functions are you can more effectively use magick to further your goal. Looking at simplistic terms such as "muscles" will only get you so far.

When building strength, is low reps with big weights the go to? And how to do this relatively safe? Any advice?

Keep meditating as well. Not only the meditations will empower your muscles , mr Muscle , but it will empower everything , your mind, sould, body, everything will gain more power so form yourself a program that you follow and track down your progress and the changes that are happening , if you keep track of your progress this will motivate you even more to keep going and achieve better and greater goals then the one you've already set , a continuously and endlessly progress.

I can probably recommend only calisthenics with confidence. You can try what you asked, but I would not do that. Always warm up, and better yet, also direct prana to connective tissues for even safer training.

From what i've read, it seem people have a bad long term experience with it.

Low reps high weight, I've heard a lot of bad experiences, seems like people will get a lot of aches and pains and problems.

Remember that a man that can do a pushup with a lot of weight on his back, can outperform or have similar strength to someone who bench presses that same amount, but not viceversa.
Calisthenics is like a holistical way of training, while weight lifting is very isolating in the muscles it uses. Ideally you mix the two.

Yes, most likely because people do not do the initial conditioning phase to get a base level of strength and move onto heavy weights instantly. What could go wrong with such an approach? :)

Could be offtopic but here is some cool video showing how not muscle mass is the only thing when it comes to strength.
Specifically in arm wrestling.

Akimbo aka Maxim, 19 years around 80 kg.

He is extremely strong. I like him because he kinda looks like Himmler.

Than there is also that shool guy who does not look pumped either, and he is even stronger than akimbo.

They are very fascinating.

Mars Square if your going for strength.
The Sun rules the muscles in general but Mars rules the Strength and Force exertion capabilities of our Muscles. It might be a little while before Mars enters Aries but when it does then that would be an ideal time to start using a Mars square or Martian energies to improve strength.

Quite the opposite. NEVER rush to increase weights, as effects range from muscle imbalance, to injury, to death.

It's a gradual process. Never rush to increase weights and never feel ashamed for your pace of progress.
As for magickal workings, I suggest you use runes like Sowilo for masculine Sun magick.
