Movies, games, series

My favorite Canadian. Survivorman Les Stroud. The original survival show, and the only one that is real. He didn't have a crew of people helping him and filming him, building everything for him, and sleeping in a hotel at night like the fraud Bear Grills. He goes in alone, carrying all his own camera equipment, and filmed everything himself. He did everything for real. Entertaining and there are also full of useful lessons.

He put every episode to watch for free on his youtube channel. Everything that he filmed, and also a Director's Commentary he made for each episode. Also his music recordings, interviews with other people, and guides for harvesting and cooking wild edible plants. You can go to the Playlist tab to see everything sorted in different categories.

If you like Ghost Adventures, you will like Unearthing the Supernatural. They have been on some episodes of Ghost Adventures, but they also make their own show on youtube. For just some young men with a camera and a youtube channel with no large budget, it is surprising to see how high quality it ends up. It looks just like a show made by an expensive television channel.

They are Navajo, which is one of the civilizations who follow our Gods. They don't have all of the information that we have here, but they have a far higher understanding of spiritual things than most people. The show is similar to Ghost Adventures, but the focus is on actually helping the people's souls to move on and agree to reincarnate. And on removing dangerous and evil things from a location, and helping to protect the innocent souls that are there.

"Astérix & Obélix contre César" is one of the most based movies ever to watch with your kids if you are European or like European history.
It literally has a kike playing the villain who is subverting and pitting Caesar against the Druids. Super fun and highly recommended, Astérix & Obélix in general was a classic for me growing up.

DISCLAIMER
I forgot I already talked about Enderal, but seeing it mentioned made me want to make another post about it, I wrote it then remembered I already talked about it so now I'm putting this disclaimer, anyway...

Oh boy am I glad someone mentioned it. I am obsessed with that game.

For those who don't know, it's a passion project from a small team of indipendent German developers, it's a total conversion mod for Skyrim, which means that to play it you need Skyrim installed, but other than that its ties with Skyrim end there.
Total conversion means the game takes on a completely different story, map, quests, some gameplay rules, etc.
It's a different universe from the Elder Scrolls', and it's the 4th entry in a series of games developed in the same manner:

1. The first game was Myar Aranath and it was a total conversion mod for The Elders Scrolls 2: Daggerfall
2. Then it came Arktwend which was built on top of TES 3: Morrowind
3. Then it came Nehrim (which won the mod of the year award, rightfully so) which was built on top of TES 4: Oblivion
4. Finally, Enderal (my absolutely most favorite game story-wise of all games) built on top of TES 5: Skyrim

The world is called Vyn and while it takes on some traits from TES mainly as a consequence of being created on TES engines, it's a whole different experience.
I talk specifically about Enderal since it's the one I've played fully, in it there's almost no character that isn't deep and nuanced.
The story is great, the dialogues are intense, the lore is intriguing, the world is beautiful and tragic.
Enderal is like what Skyrim HOPES it would be.

(Almost) every single aspect of Skyrim has been surpassed by Enderal, not only story and dialogue-wise, but even tech-wise.
The gameplay is more diversified since there's more attention to player builds.

But the most beautiful things are the quests, there's almost no shallow quests, almost each one of them, from the main story to side stories, are super immersive and have a deep plot.

It's big on atheism, I gotta say.
It poses philosophical questions about religion, which some of us may find insulting, but we have to realize that it was built as a critique to mainstream religions mostly so there's no need for people like us to be upset about it.

I loved this game so much that my girlfriend gifted me the book from its main writer, the book is another beautiful piece of art and acts as a sort of prequel to the story of a very important character in the game, Jespar, which in the game becomes either your best friend or lover based on your choices.
At one point I read 100 pages per day of that book. It's called Dreams of the Dying.
His next book is coming out somewhat soon, I hear.
