I tryed today the search funktion, I was wondering what are 50% or 25% matches?

As a improvement suggestion:
I combine the new search funktion with CTRL + F (German STRG+F) on the clicked/searched website on the search index to find the searched word on the site/ it get´s highlighted, like if I would search via forum. I think it would be good if on the sites clicked, this would be standard so the searched word/words get´s highlighted/it is easyer found.

I also did wonder about the safety on the sites, because the search tool is probably a weak point for DDoS attacks.
Maybe after the search entry is insert a captcha request or similar defense messurements should be placed, after each search request.

Good ideas, thank you. I like the idea of a highlight-word feature, but it's not trivial, so it may need to wait a while.

The search is extremely minimalistic regarding server processing, and it does limit the text to 256 characters. However, it still might be a weak point for DDoS. Fortunately, the forums use PHP and MySQL just like the search, but on a much heftier scale, and HP Cobra has managed to keep them up and running, so whatever works here to prevent DDoS should work on the main site too if needed.

To answer your question, the match percentage has the following meaning:

100% - The page title contains the exact search text.
99% - The page content probably contains the search text.
< 99% - The page does not contain the exact search text. However, a higher percent means that it found something closer to the search text. This is the case if you search for two words that are not found together, but are in the page.

The information is fine, as the clergy has checked it out. but It bothered me and I feel it is uncredible.
