You don´t have to get for example a husky dog, which would need much time food/money and should be living with you as the alpha.

You could start with a smal animal that does not need high care.

You did raise the importance of the material aspect. But no, my questions were purely concerned towards the spiritual side of it. At any rate, I have determined that I am presently not emotionally grounded enough to have one, so forget that I asked.
