I’d like a veteran brother or sister to shed some light on Hedonism in the true SS context. To my interpretation it sounds to me as if the pursuit of Strength through Joy.

From my experience it's:

The pursuit of Joy, from weak people.

Meditation/ live is not only about joy, it's about endurance the will to achieve something, which involves hardship. If you always want joy/ everything asap, you can´t wait for something, then someone else will take advantage off this, which ultimately will kill the true joy you could reach.

Oscar Wilde wrote a narrative on hedonism in the form of The Picture of Dorian Grey. The essence of hedonism is the constant pursuit of pleasure, and constant pleasure seeking and materiality as the end all be all can lead to the degradation of morality and one's conscience(or soul, as reflected in the Picture), especially when there is no consequence or accountability or responsibility. It's a good read even if you disagree with the messages behind it.

I think that obsession with the material world & pleasure seeking can trap people in lower realms and cause them to lose touch with the higher things. People who live like this are like animals.

Overindulgence in harmful activities until the person is eventually completely destroyed. Every drug addicticted zombie, every 500 pound obese person, every whore with 100 different sexual diseases, these are all hedonists. And they all have destroyed themselves because a tiny drop of dopamine as an instant reward means more to them than anything in the world.

We work to build true strength, true health, and true power. Which requires patience, effort, and years of work to create monuments of strength which have deep foundations that are truly permanent. Somebody can smoke a crack rock and instantly feel a strong synthetic joy, but their body and soul are soon killed. But a man who works for years on creating a perfect life may take years to feel that same feeling of reward, but his is based on something real and true and everlasting.

well said ..Love your wisdom brother ..stupid people think satanists are sinners or evil people because they live life in the most hedonistic way NOT knowing that TRUE satanists know exactly where to draw the line and what exactly is good for their soul and life

I can't have respect for hedonists. Occasionally indulging (holiday feasts and sweets, for example) is healthy for the mind and soul, but to be a constant hedonist is rather pathetic.

I'd rather be working productively here (or otherwise) and constantly growing.

I didn't become a JG by chasing pleasure and over-fulfilling base desires. I got here by putting in countless hours for things I won't even be fully credited with (hundreds of hours editing, fact-checking, and even re-writing parts of mageson's writings, as one example). But it's worth it, because I am interested in growing.

Hedonism is being stuck at the lower 2 chakras, sacral especially (sex, pleasures such as eating, etc). There's more to the human experience... especially for those of us who are looking to become Gods.

hedonism is NEVER EVER good ..This question itself shows how society is degenerate today and does not use common sene..It is going to damage your mind and soul in a VERY LONG way ..hedonism is chasing all right things in a TOTAL WRONG WAY ..Satanists must know that do whatever u want that fullfills your mind and soul and live life to the fullest ,fullfilling all your great desires as long it must NOT damage your mind ,soul as well as others ..You can cause damage to others ONLY when they have done you harm ..Your life must be a reflection of a great soul ...

Thank you for the insight.

It's a hard TH (like "the", not like "thought"), so it might sound like HP HoodedCobra is vibrating V but it is TH.

As you vibrate, you are exhaling. Same with speaking, we exhale as it happens, without conscious thought.

Hedonism as the constant pursuit of immediate pleasure is nihilistic because it does not lead to a development of life, in fact it often shortens it as mentioned in other members' answers. In fact, a person who seeks immediate pleasure is a person who thinks he cannot attain higher pleasure or does not even conceive of it.

The pleasure in doing something good for others and the pleasure given by a state of greater power is understood only by fairly elevated souls. Hedonism is only good if it is directed towards this pleasure that is eternal. But this pleasure will not avoid suffering even if it helps to overcome difficult times. Being comfortable with one's own consciousness is very helpful in overcoming difficult moments.
