For a little while now I've been hearing music as I fall asleep. It starts out kind of faint but quickly becomes very loud. Its happened about 4 or 5 times in the last couple of months. The music I hear is a violin and I swear its the most beautiful music I've ever heard. Its been different each time and its a song I haven't heard before. When it happens I'm at a half-way point between being asleep and awake. Has anyone else had this happen to them? Does anyone know what it might mean?

I once heard a song very clearly during a sleep paralysis. At that point, I couldn't tell if I was awake or asleep, and I couldn't tell if the song was real or in my head. It was a psychedelic, magical feeling.

In my dreams, I would read a novel and wonder who had written such a good book, only to find out later that my own mind had created it. I would enjoy the scenery in my dreams and sigh that it was more beautiful than the real world. I touch other people in my dreams, and the feeling of touching them is just like reality. But I rarely hear music in my dreams, even though I listen to it for hours every day when I'm awake.

My most similar experience to yours is that I often read books in my dreams. In my dreams, I would say, "This is really the best book I've ever read."

Sometimes it's kind of sad and melancholy. Makes you feel homesick. And and sometimes it is very beautiful and uplifting. Especially when your extra tired. After a long busy day. And sometimes it melts the stress away and makes you fall into a deeper sleep. And you have the most beautiful vivid dreams along with it. I get this once in awhile. 💙 It's a rare and beautiful experience.

Incredibly, I just tried again to enter a controlled sleep paralysis. I did it, and I heard different music. I hear different melodies, and each one is beautiful, and I can change those melodies. While listening to this music, I knew exactly what I was doing, and my consciousness went into another state that was completely controlled.

I can control myself to wake up, move into a comfortable position, and then go back into controlled sleep paralysis.

It was like a deep trance and a lucid dream. I can feel my other pair of hands and feet, and then touch things around me with my "hand," and I can touch my other non-physical "leg." Well this is an amazing state of affairs and I can't wait to share this experience.

But I could not keep this state for long. I lasted about half an hour before my strength was exhausted and I had to wake up again.

Yes. Happened many times to me also. Usually classical sounding, for lack of better description. Very beautiful, ethereal feeling, sounds like very soft sounding grand piano would be the closest description in my case. Enjoy it. If you feel or ever felt like playing music, try to recreate some of what you hear. Don't think there is anything wrong with you or something.
