I tend to gravitate to negative/dark or melancholic views and emotions
it also brings me comfort in myself. It’s almost my therapy i guess the question is does this necessarily reflect or affect oneself negativley. Can this energy be used beneficially? Is it truly negative if it comforts me , or even maybe brings insight to things around me. I love the feeling of darkness; pessimism, melancholy.

I hope you really do because as you empower yourself by dwelling on these you will attract more and more.

It's not gonna bring you anywhere.

You like it because you know(consciously or subconsciously) it's a way for you to be stagnating and not putting effort into developing yourself.

Feeling sorry for oneself can be a self-soothing behavior and it's been found that it releases dopamine in some cases. I know it can sound counter-intuitive, but feeling negative, feeling like a victim and so on makes you feel better in the moment, but in the long run it ruins you.

What I've found is that many self-destructive habits give you that dopamine hit in the moment, they make you feel better, but they destroy you at the same time and you don't even realize it until it's too late. This is what makes these activities so dangerous and that's the power that they develop over you, they make you feel better and you become addicted to that feeling. But it's a trap. They're not there to help you, but to destroy you.

Figuring your problems out, advancing and achieving your goals will make you feel 100 times better. I know it's hard to see it now, but it's the truth. Life is also very tough and it's normal to feel down sometimes, but don't dwell too much on these feelings/energies because like I said you will attract them more and more and you will also attract hard luck that is tied with these low frequencies.

This negative energy and your acceptance of it is a remnant of christianity. Work on your soul.

That's not healthy.. what's real could you possibly get? Feeling Melancholy and depressed... I hate to break it to you but that is what Jews do, and Christians... especially those that are wrapped up in the Bible. They learn to like that kind of shit. 😥 And it's sad and disturbing Within itself? Most people would prefer to watch something pleasant and happy? Indulge in something that would make you want to laugh and have fun. Normally a person is drawn to somebody or something that would make you feel comfortable as an individual? Like engaging in conversations? With topics that are intellectual. And being with people that makes you feel wanted and accepted? Being a part of a group that makes you still comfortable about yourself and your well-being. Normally a person would be drawn to that kind of thing? Because people want to be wanted and accepted for who and what they are. And to feel comfortable naturally in their own flesh and in their own environment. So why? Would anybody want to be miserable? Dark and moody? Do you think that that would destroy your inner chakras? And break down your bioelectricity? Make you so that you don't want to live or function on a higher level? Putting yourself in a situation where you're miserable all the time? Is bad enough laugh out loud why would you want to put yourself there in your frame of mind? Thinking of things that are ugly and unhealthy for the mind and soul? And in a word? How can one develop any frame of higher intelligence? By putting yourself in that kind of misery being repressed and depressed?... I don't mean to be rude here? But I honestly think you need to go talk to a doctor...

Hellenic ss. I just got through reading your post. And what you said makes sense. There's nothing wrong with gravitating towards your dark side when you have been hurt and angry. You have every right to fill that and to be one with that because it is a part of you. You have that right to sit down and express that and to be able to work with it and get it out. To your heart's content. It is a way of healing one's self, and working with your own personal emotions. Considering the things that we go through each and every day of our life as individuals. And the way people treat each other in this world you have a right to lash out when you have to? If not all that anger and emotion is going to get bottled up with in yourself is an individual and it's going to cause other problems. Just like everyone has the right to vent once in a while when they had a bad day.
And the way people feel about their enemies after they've been treated wrong? You have every right to express that anger and the things that you feel like doing once in a while. I guess for me? On the other hand maybe I just got tired of being the negative person.
And I got tired of complaining about my problems.
And personally I just wanted to step aside? And find out what it's like to be able to free myself of that, after completing about my problems more than once on here and two other people who have been tired of hearing about it. I figured maybe that being on the positive side of it looking at it all in different perspectives? Has healed me! And has allowed me to move on. But to Harbor and depression for a certain period of time does cause damage, and being negative all the time does become a habit? I know that for myself because I've been that dark person for many years! And it seems nice! Just to be able to look at things in a lighter perspective for a change, especially since I've been on here. And practicing different breathing exercises and mantras and the things that I have been through personally. Along with self improvement! Being able to let go and laugh and smile for a change. Instead of being a grumpy.

As others have alluded to, it is because you believe it is giving you some benefit.
If you are exploring dark subjects from a position of learning, then this is not a problem, but if you are intentionally self-destructing yourself or genuinely feeling bad, then that is not good.

Try to ask yourself the reason you may want to do this, and what safer options may be available to you. Elaborate on what darkness means to you. Is this an elaboration and questioning of why negativity can occur so you can solve it, or are you inflicting actual harm?

I appreciate that you read my post. But I meant negativity as in hating yourself and everyone around you because of personal complexes, not as in disliking someone. Yes, anger is a part of Satanism, but we should master it to avoid ruining our lives. Of course, in a life-or-death scenario where you're being robbed, you have to unleash your anger to fight back, but in normal situations, we should control ourselves, which does not equate with limiting ourselves.
