Just get yourself those really nice running shoes that they have that conform to the foot so you can stride with the pads below your toes.
Do you mean the modern running shoes? personally I wont go for those..
I used to walk on slippers inside the house and I still have something that looks like crocks but isn't for when I have to step in the garden suddenly. Im not sure how long they take to wear down, but when they do I will just trash them and find myself something else with a sturdier thing to walk on.
Ive had problems with my feet for a long long time and all I have to say on those soft soled shoes is this..
When they are soft, the parts of your feet slide everywhere and sink away from one another. This takes considerable strength to keep together. You probably won't notice it if you stand on them for 5 minutes, but if you have to walk on them and do walk on them for hours and hours and hours you will notice it.
To me, nowadays my feet start hurting.
And currently Im often barefoot or sockedfoot inside my house I won't wear those beach slippers anymore, or those toe things, unless I decided to go to a swimming pool for a change.
Has anyone else noticed the amount of advertisement for podo soles or something? I think there are more cases of people saying ouch that hurt it doesnt feel great I need a solution - or making people think there is something wrong whilst there may not be something wrong yet..
Anyway I think its something not to be trusted.
One more thing. Walking barefoot alone doesn't strengthen the ligiaments or muscles. You need to actively work on those as well. Especially if you sink so far through your foot that the inside (arch) of the foot is touching the ground.
