"Personally, I was thinking about applying a natural product. Kalenis. It's a spray cream and its ingredients are: aqua, hamamelis virginiana, calendula officinalis, camphor, persea americana, glycerin, cetearyl alcohol, ceteareth-20, sorbic acid, triethanolamine, methylparaben. But I don't think it can be applied on open wounds. I used this spray to soothe inflammations cause by hair wax."
I've taken a look at some of the ingredients listed, Hamamelis vulgaris is used when you have (I'll have to describe it) when your veins are out of shape and in extreme cases can from sacks of blood. On the skin it is used to help with various issues, one is being inflamed wounds. This herb contains tannins which enclose the inflammation. Said to be a disinfectant.
Calendula officinalis. Most used on the skin, however I was warned that it helps to heal wounds in such a way that the wounds tend to close over the inflammation. So you can't drain any pus of some sort. I don't know weather this is true or not, or if those people know it from experience.
Persea Americana: Several vitamins, like A, D, E, B .. Can be used for dry eczema and other dry skin inflammations. Has quite a bit of tannins. Can be used for dandruff.
(did not find anything on camphor - cinnamomun camphora - in my books, however this is the Wikipedia article:
Camphor - Wikipedia )
In closing, I think it can be applied to any kind of inflammations, weather it can be used on open wounds depends not only on the wound, but also on the other ingredients. If it was herbs only I think it could be applied on open wounds, with care.
Hope the extra information was useful
