Family #794 Preparing Children

This question is related to the user's family.
Give them opportunities to explore different fields (such as internships, volunteer work, project-based learning, or job shadowing) and gain real-life experience to build confidence and a versatile skill set.

Don't rush them off to college until they have enough experience to figure out what they want. Involve them in hobbies, invite them to help you with yours or to do tasks like fixing things and making renovations. Get them doing volunteer work, hospitals are a good option, or ridealongs with police and fire/EMS.

Get them to do things in the real world with their hands so they have skills. Paths that require certification and licensure tend to have less debt burden and are more marketable than others. Certification based paths are easier to get into and less costly.

Perspective is the most important thing and the things they see and learn along the way will benefit them for life.

Tell them to make rich friends whose parents run companies. Favouritism will do the rest.

Also teach them skills, differs depending on the job they gonna do.
