Of course! The important thing is that you have changed for the better. In that case the gods will no longer care who you were before but who you are now
If anyone has been in cycles of failure, guilt-tripping themselves, laziness, self damaging, it's all a good idea to wake up from this now and waste no more time; enter the path of development and re-assume your duties.
This is not about Gods or somebody forgiving you, this is about you actually change and start doing good things in the sphere you feel guilt in and actually fix things you did through doing the opposite. The guilt feeling comes from inside us not from the Gods or someone else. So to fix it we fix what we impact into this world because our actions are the source of this guilt. By fixing our impact we change what we feel about ourselves. Guilt & conscience is Nature's mechanism to give our actions right direction.
Yes as long as you learn and become better it you who has to forgive as we are toughest judges of onesself and that comes when we become better and make our souls proud naturally gods reward us with happiness and bliss

I believe one should have remorse and then a move on
It's shows one has a conscious
I've met people who would exploit and manipulate people with no remorse and absolutely believe there's actions are justified
A good example I can give from my personal life companies I had worked for the owner of the company would buy brand new car every year ,go on multiple vacations in a year but would exploit the people working for him pay them less then minimum wage ,screw them over as much as they possibly can ,another good example is look at the politicians they would endlessly lie to you knowing what they are doing is wrong or evil and yet believe what they are doing is justified
What I hate most is these gangsters who would commit all these horrible acts and then go and say am a Christian so am absolved from all this what I have done they say this without remorse or feelings of guilt, if someone can own up to what they have they have done ( atleast to themselves )and try to make a change within themselves and the world I believe that person deserves to be truly free of the past
