I never trust those who promise material gifts in relationships. Giving gifts is good. But only when it is a spontaneous thing. Promising that gifts will be given is not only a way of buying the person in my opinion, but also an attempt to distract your attention by hiding some thing about themselves while you are focusing on the gift. You're right. I kind of get it, even if I'm not sure. I was excited, first time in real life I lived something like this. And sorry for bad English.
