The words/mantras that are to be vibrated, for example SA TA NA MA, SATANAS, AUM, and others, are not abbreviations of other words, but rather words from Ancient India, Egypt, and Hellas that activate certain parts of the mind and soul. They add necessary energy to the Rituals.

As for the symbols, there are the Runes (from the 24 letters of the Futhark alphabet), and the Sigils. The Sigils are symbols with specific geometrical features, which connect to a certain God/Demon. The Joy of Satanas has also made a Shenu Ring for each God/Demon.
