Stoicism was taught to me as being..emotionless. robotic. sounds stupid to me, always has.

some things I see here..it's almost the same. but i'm not sure if that's controlling emotion, hiding emotion, or just feeling nothing at all.

but what actually is stoicism, in context of Spiritual Satanism?

(i'm writing like this because otherwise my thoughts will get away from me and this topic will go way off rails, trust me, it's short for a reason)

Hello :)

Have you read Meditations by Marcus Aurelius? I don't see it as emotionless or robotic.

A lot of people here are like ordinary people in the real world, thinking that emotions are to be repressed and ignored, so perhaps that's what you are seeing. In Satanism, we are encouraged to open all chakras, and the Heart and Throat chakras are about love and bonding, which many people, men especially, have been taught to repress and ignore.

Spiritual Satanists are to live life to our fullest potential, and that includes emotions. Look to the Gods and Goddesses, you can learn a lot from them.

(I'm not quite answering your question as that would require a very lengthy post with more research, which I am not able to do for answering a post.)

Stoicism is to control your emotions in the right way. To see reality, realistically, and not trough your emotions.

This is a pretty good video. It's worth to watch.

"Anyone can become angry - that is easy, but to be angry with the right person, and to the right degree and at the right time, and for the right purpose, and in the right way that is not within everyone's power and that is not easy." - Aristotle, 384 BC - 322 BC

It is not really about suppressing emotions. But it's about not allowing anything to stop you from doing all of the things you're responsible for. Doing your job, taking care of yourself, taking care of your family, and everything else that you need to do. And if you are unhappy about something or uncomfortable in some way, do not allow this to stop you and prevent you from doing what you have to do.

I'll add the Meditations to the list of "things I should read, eventually," hopefully the copy on Kindle isn't messed up by the enemy.

I'm more angry than "not loving," though. I've just seen stuff happen, and anger feels like the natural response.

Unfortunately I am more in the overly expressive/emotional side of things than unfeeling, and I almost always see things in terms of "yes or no," binary mindset (or whatever it's actually called). Emotions are tricky to balance, but I guess I get the idea

thanks. and now to disappear for another six months because I don't know what to ask.

You probably have lack of air. https://satanisgod.org/www.angelfire.com/empire/serpentis666/Invoking_Air.html
A LACK of air makes one have a hard time detaching as the tendency is to become too emotionally involved. People who lack air can find themselves too involved with others. They can be overly emotional, have violent reactions, lash out, and have a very difficult time with being objective. They can have a hard time adjusting to new situations. The emotions often dominate in one who is lacking the air element. They can become obsessed. Air is the communicative, intellectual principle.

Again, anger is a natural reaction, but you can direct it correctly, and you may experience less anger trough your spiritual journey especially if you balance your elements out. For some people, it is hard to be stoic by nature. You can overcome this.

Again, stoicism is not to suppress your emotions.
