Meditations What different kinds of tea & herbs would you recommend to relax for meditation, trance work, and astral projection?

This question is related to meditation.
I have a vial of jasmine essential oil that I use (aromatherapy) before rituals or trance. I don't always remember to use it, but it is nice and helps, it has a slight hypnotic effect, in a completely healthy way of course.

I've seen lavender mentioned above, this should be avoided for young men (pre-teen to 20's), as it has been shown to potentially lower testosterone. It seems to be fine for adult men, but unless you're a man with high testosterone I would advise against it. I haven't seen clear research on if it's fine for aromatherapy, but ingestion such as tea should be avoided.

I apologize for bothering you HPS Lydia.

Someone else mentioned that perfumes, for example, can be damaging for the nervous system. Is that true?

I assume the same doesn't apply for essential oils and aromatherapy?

Is it best to use heated stones or a diffuser for it? And are there any scents that we should avoid during meditation or overall use?

These herbs already mentioned are great options. I personally like lemon balm and holy basil (tulsi) a lot.

I would also add brahmi, ashwaganda, passion flower and valerian root.

As previously stated these plants can have a different effect on the male and female body so please research this before using.

You're not bothering me at all :)

Perfumes can have bad reactions for certain people, so if anyone is sensitive, be careful with what you use. Essential oils are usually fine, as they are simply extracted from plants, but I have heard of people who had sensitivities to them.

For using essential oils, I usually just inhale from the bottle for some breaths, usually 4 or 5. This is recommended in aromatherapy too. You can diffuse it any method, such as heated stones or a diffuser as you mentioned, or the sticks that go in a jar.

Go with what you like, if you don't like the scent of something then don't use it. I don't know enough to say if there are any that should be avoided, just make sure they are decent quality though.

Thank you so much! I'll keep that in mind. ❤️

I really like mug-wort tea. It is bitter so not everyone will like it.

There are also a bunch of lucid dreaming herbs that have been used for centuries and some really nice blends of dreaming herbal teas.

I like putting a few drops of your favorite essential oil in a warm bath to relax. But make sure to not leave the oil on top of the water when you step in and only buy natural oils. One time my ass was burning for two hours because my skin had a reaction to the oil lol.

I'm not certain if used specifically for meditation but try the Yogi brand Stress Relief tea (it does contain Lavender however). It has Rooibos Leaf in it which is great for anxiety. Always helps me calm down during high stress moments. You can find it at your local Walmart.
