I remember reading in JoS that wands don't have a good history, they are generally used by enemy wizards.
What do you think about wands?

But Lord Hermes is depicted with a wand in mythology. Can you give me some information about this?

Wands are Pagan?

I think I already said it in a previous post, I have never used or had an athame. When i started practicing some years ago (i was still a child and a lot unexperienced) I remember looking up in the celtic calendar to see what kind of tree i had affinity with based on my date of birth. I made out from a fig tree a wand, consacrated it under a full moon with a little ritual and i've been using it since then. In time, I empowered it by inscribing runes on it and by using it a lot for the opening of circles and in a lot of spells. It has been of great use to me to channel energy and cast spells, i still use it to this day but not as frequently as before. Since i used it for years, it has accumulated a lot of power. Honestly, idk and idc if wands have been used by enemy practicioners, if it's true, they also stole this ritual tool from paganism. In hellenic witchcraft wands have always been used (even before the ritual dagger) as an allegory of the phallus, masculine creative energy and fire element. Wands were traditionally carved and inscribed with sigils, specific letters of the alphabet, name of powers or names of daimons/gods.

this is a Waterhouse painting (I personally love this artist). Circe is using a ritual wand to prepare a magic potion she's giving to Ulysses

In the past (when I was 14-15 years old); I had one. Then I had to give it up for some reasons. I charged it with the elements.

Since my chakras were not strong at that time, I used it when practicing telekinesis, because it was easier to use other energies. I was very inexperienced.

What were you using the wands for?

I think in the past they used them as an insult to Demons. So I'm not sure if it's right to use them.

I used it as a substitute for the athame since it was more difficult for me to get one back in the days. So basically for opening circles, calling forth the elements, directing energy and other ritual purposes. It isn't offensive to the gods at all

I read that somewhere in JoS, that's why I thought that.

Is it wrong for an SS to use this?

Thank you for sharing your experiences with wand.

The wand isn't used in Satanism at all, no matter the purpose, because it was used to abuse the Gods. It's not that the Gods will get angry or anything, but using it for any purpose is considered disrespectful.

The JoS site says that if you don't have an athame you can simply use your index finger and invoke everything by pointing your index finger.

During my practice no demons or spirits has found my wand disrespectful. It's a totally natural tool charged with the energy of the moon and the Gods. It's usage has been attested in lots of gentile magical practices before the arrival of yaweh and it's disciples. Also pentagrams and athames were largely used and corrupted by enemy practitioners to abuse the gods, this doesn't make them intrinsically negative and to avoid. A tool -like the energy- is a neutral channeler of our intentions. Despite what you may have read, it can't be negative by nature only because some wicked people at a specific time of history used it to do their wrongdoing. Using a wand it's not offensive at all to the Gods

It is a symbolic prop. Like other props, it is not necessary but it could be helpful. It could help with your visualization and help with getting in a correct mindset for successfully directing energies. You could use this if it is helpful to you, there is nothing wrong with this.

So is it wrong to fill it with energy and use it magically?
