Hey guys I found out something interesting during my studies I wanted to share.
I have been in the process of studying Latin and have found a technique for learning that is actually recorded by the ancient Philosophers.
I'm referring to the Method of Loci, or the "Memory palace".

This is important because we already implement this with our meditations and rituals.

Let's take a summarized analysis for now:

The method of loci is a strategy for memory enhancement, which uses visualizations of familiar spatial environments in order to enhance the recall of information. The method of loci is also known as the memory journey, memory palace, journey method, memory spaces, or mind palace technique.

I notice personally when I recall memories, for example my little blue home as a child, then I can see the trees and the yard I would run around the house. It expands further I can remember the roads I would walk on. Riding my bike to my friends house. His hat he would wear, his eyebrows(SO COOL!) ...

But this is not always the case of course, like when I think of HPS Maxine I remember first her voice.

It's just a fun thing I've recently found out and I'm going to use it often during my Latin Studies to improve my Visualizations and Memory :)

Our mind holds great Power, let's keep looking for new ways to improve ourselves! Perhaps you always know me as a deep thinker, and I think our mind is like the 4th Dimension 🤔

What methods have you used to Enhance your Mental Abilities?

I noticed that image, sound, sensations... form in my mind about abstract things.

I played often piano until ten years ago, I have a piano and other schema in my mind.
For the rythm it's a sensation, like a dancer/juggler.

For long numbers, the sound is important to memorize it, the way you pronounce a phrase create a melody giving a sensation. Number repetitions, multiples, rhymes... are also a help.

Some are able to compute mentally vertiginuous multiplication, in fact, they see numbers in their head, then copy them.
Previously, they gradually learned 2 numbers multiplication tables, then 3 numbers. After this formation, the brain create a calculator.

Another example is video games. My 3D vision has been improved because I played a lot.
Just now, I imagine a white torus and a black marble throwing it, then I make it drawing a 8 - it goes through the hole, turn around the circumference segment then return in the hole and do the same the other side.
After this, I gradually change the angle, the marble turn around another circumference section pair. This step requires concentration and it's tiring.
If you do it regularly, you will can play with 2 torus - just tried, I no more know which path the marble must take.
[ I found 10 minutes later, it's tiring. I just noticed I follow/guide the marble with the eyes. ]

This ability help me to informatically draw something like my avatar - it's an openscad script.
Circles undulate making them avoid each other. In fact it's 5 times the same circle, the circle schema is rotated each time.

I believe the more you know something, the more you create schemas/tools. The brain is an emulator recreating data, you cannot remember all.
For this reason, reading, geometry and arithmetic are fundamentals for mental training.

Like musculation you must :
- never stay on the same exercise or you'll stagnate and hurt yourself
- take regular break.
