Seems the silence has been ringing on too long
Crashing waves have gone on but I couldn't hear them
I see them washing over my feet but I didn't feel it
I watch the sea gulls fly above my head, but I couldn't see what they see
The sand is beneath my feet made from bones and shells
The texture feels like a void in my chest that I couldn't fill
I longed to find my way through a path that had no light
No sign post or a map anywhere that may guide me
I look behind and all I see is a cramped tank of gold fish
When ahead the entire ocean awaits for anyone daring to go
Will I set my sail and explore that grand open water
With the one who loves the sea a greater many times more than me?
For how long will the screams of the agonized devour all room?
But no one makes a sound, their lips are sealed, is it all in my head?
The pains of the chained bleeds through like a common friend to me
This world though green and alive feels like everyday it's dying inside
An emptiness I can't explain spreads like disease and plague
When I looked behind I couldn't see a future waiting there for me
And I wonder how that tank of gold fish can stand to breathe in there
Can't you see the ocean waiting for you to set yourself free?
A voice is calling to me
Far away beyond the sky among the stars in a stranger sea
What lies out there that I don't know? I am so lost, where should I go?
I have no more desire for the life I had, it's gone and it's dead
A night in the cold reveals an ancient story crying to unfold
The constellation of a man with a bow ventures out of the dark
Unafraid of the bull he hunts running across the sky like the Sun
It pulls at me, it draws me in, maybe there is meaning in these feelings
Nothing else seems fulfilling than drinking honey gold
I wonder how one even begins to live if we're cursed to grow old?
Though the fire may burn me at any time, I'll brave it rather than die
A life without Satan's touch is just a death not worth digging for
The Great Hunter I ask, please show me how to hunt
Let me learn how to keep up with you and run my own pace
There's nothing else in this world that could fill my cup of dew
And I'll sail that open ocean without delay and find what's true
Crashing waves have gone on but I couldn't hear them
