Square + MUNKA

Can I do a working with MUNKA to remove negative karma, and a spiritual square to empower those same affairs within the same timeframe, or should I remove all of the negative karma before proceeding to the square? Does it have to be all of it, or will a 40 day working surfice to make the square worth doing, or will it still amplify the negative energies still present?
