Splitting the soul is basically when you practice putting your consciousness into other parts of your soul, like your light body, your astral body, your aura, etc. You should be practicing the intermediate meditations and moving to the advanced before you try it--or really familiar with mediations and know what you're doing. Being able to extend your consciousness can help you with projecting these bodies and mediating on them which leads to further advancement. Just because you're young doesn't mean you shouldn't try a meditation, unless you're in puberty and you want to do the Magnum Opus. Being young and meditating makes it easier and gives you a head start. I started when I was 15.
