Many people wrongly believe that money has nothing to do with spirituality. That money is only material, that money is bad, that making money is selfish, that the love of money is the root of all evil.
Most think that money is time or that time is money.
Most think that hoarding money is bad. If you exceed an arbitrary limit you must be bad.
These people also think that spending money is bad. Anything related to money is bad.
These untruths spread by the enemy have done a huge amount of damage to our civilization.
Money is not time
Contrary to popular belief, every transaction done ethically benefits both the seller and the buyer.
Most of the time, the gain made by the buyer is more than the gain made by the seller.
Example: person A makes tool X in one hour for $1k and then person B buys tool X for $10k.
The seller just made $9k in one hour! Is the seller ripping off the buyer? Is the seller greedy and enriching himself while making others poor?
The buyer then uses tool X to make another tool X in one hour for $1k which he then sells for $10k. What's going on here? Who's ripping off who now? They must be all bad people, making so much money.
The buyer of the last tool X then uses tool X to make tool Y, which he sells for $100k.
The buyer of tool Y then uses it to make tool Z which he sells for $1,000,000.
The buyer of tool Z then uses it to make $100,000,000 by manufacturing a product that saves 1,000,000,000 lives....
In this example, tool X is a lathe, tool Y is a CNC lathe, tool Z is a big 6 axis CNC lathe.
How is all of this fair? Time must equal money right? Person A is greedy and shouldn't be making that much because it's more than I make, however he helped others make even more money than he does, shouldn't he be paid more?
What is money?
There are three kinds of money that I know: based on past work, based on future work and third a mixture of the two.
The types based on past work are gold, silver, cryptos and all whose supply is somewhat limited. They do not require much trust to work. They tend to make prices decrease over time and make it very hard for borrowers to pay back loans.
The second type is the one based on a promise for future work. Most currencies today are of this kind. Tends to make prices increase over time. Good for borrowers. Requires trust to work.
The third kind, which no one has managed to implement, would be a mixture of the two previous ones. Mixing the two kinds should tend to keep prices constant over time. Balance the inflationary tendency of one with the deflationary tendency of the other.
As you can see, money does not have value in the present time. It's either based on the past or on the future. Since past and future are concepts of the human mind we can say that the value of money is purely spiritual.
Now what do people do with money? They spend it to get things that make them happy or receive services that make them happy.
Thus money represents the amount of good that you've done to others in the past or that you'll do to others in the future.
Let go of all the bad preconceptions about money.
Souldn't there be a limit to how much money one should seek?
Why would you want to stop doing good to others?
$1M? $1B? $1T?
You should always seek to make more until your last breath. The love of money, being rewarded for the good that you do to others, is the root of all that is good.
Hoarding money is good
If you do not spend money it does not make others poorer nor does it prevent others from engaging in economic activity, unless there were only 2 people on earth and you were one of those.
1% has 99% of the money. So what? It does not make others poorer.
It does not stop you from making goods and services and exchanging them with other people.
Spending money is good
What if you enjoy spending money? Should you feel any guilt driving a ferrari past a homeless jew?
You shouldn't. There's nothing wrong in doing the things that make you happy. While making others happy is good, making yourself happy is priority number 1.
You don't need money to make money
Money is not a tool. You can't use it to make anything, except fire.
You don't need money to give others things or services. If the buyer does not have enough money right now to pay for your goods and services, make a debt contract.
If you don't have enough money to buy a tool, try to make a debt contract either with the seller, with family, with a friend or with a bank (in that order).
If that fails, try to make a contract with the buyer of your goods and services. In most cases that contract can then be sold to a third party (the practice is called invoice financing) which you can use to lease the tools necessary for the work.
Now go and make lots and lots and lots of money. You deserve lots of it and much more.
