Saturn Retrograde Question

I am a little confused about the exact influence of Saturn being retrograde (which goes from about June-October this year). In particular, I am confused about its influence on a working for increasing Saturn traits within someone.

Originally, I thought "oh that is easy. Retrograde is "bad", so it should be negative". However, this line of thinking became questionable to me after pondering how Mercury retrograde aids internal revision, Jupiter retrograde aids internal abundance, and so on. If that is the case, would Saturn retrograde be useful for "internal" limits, as opposed to external ones?

The reason why this is a problem is that the Capricorn moon has fallen within a waning period for some time now. In addition, it will only appear on the Esbat and waxing period during the Saturn retrograde time. So if that entire period is unusable, then that really leaves this upcoming Taurus moon on Saturday, Beltane's Eve, as the last good date.

Although I have been using Nauthiz for productivity, I was hoping to use it for upgrading the entirety of my natal Saturn, ideally when Capricorn is on the Esbat in July. Sure, I can do other things to it, like generally boosting it with Sowilo, but I don't think that is an ideal replacement.

I would since it conjucts a fortunate fixed star of Deneb Algedi, but its up to you. Saturn wont enter its home/exaltation in around 20-30 years later

I would rather not do workings trying to amplify Saturn's influence. If you want to obtain/increase his good traits i would just invoke the Earth element or use Runes (as you are doing). Saturn is strongly related to jewish curses and great suffering, it's just too risky in my opinion.

Runes and element invocation are extremley effective metods.

I believe if it is actually transiting your ascendant, then you may want to transmute any negativity, such as with a Sun Square (especially if it is a long transit). Doing a Saturn Square would only strengthen the influence on you, for better or worse.

I know you said you didn't have problems with Saturn before. Just from a conservative standpoint, a Sun square would only help the end result, whereas additional Saturn energy traditionally makes things worse.

I have Venus retrograde natal, when Venus goes retrograde, my spells concerning Venus energies are amplified and also with an extreme influence over me. When it is normal, It doesn't have influence over me, but on others with spells.

My conclusion on this, given I have a retrograde natal, was that the retrograde motion would amplify and self reflect in the soul these energies. Structurally on the deepest end.

It felt always as a closed end where the energies keep being reflected onto me, which would mean a self discovery moment.

I think on a retrograde Saturn you can understand the deepest nature of this energy in your soul, which would then benefit you to work on your Saturn more efficiently and aware. Targeting the things that appeared during the retrograde motion.

If you want to do workings on this motion, I think healing workings can be a choice, given the nature of the effects.

This is my opinion, which can be very wrong given my lack of astrology knowdlege but I thought to reply.

I believe you should. I'm not saying this to cause fear, know that it had many other things with my chart and his chart. My boyfriend committed suicide after Saturn went forward and retrograded (is this a word?) back over my ascendant and another natal planet in conjunction with the ascendant. It was just after Saturn finished its retrograde.

The second time Saturn went from the 12th house to the 1st house after the retrograde was the worst time of my life. Though it ended up to make me finally dedicate to Satan after lurking for a long while. Saturn teaches the hard way. It helped me to become a new and better person, a Satanist, but in a most painful way.

Saturn is the most influential planet after the chart ruler for me. You have a different chart so... I don’t know. Saturn scares me a bit but it wouldn't work for you as it did for me.

It will be inconjunct with the chart ruler soon and I'm thankful to Satan for giving the knowledge of how to deal with it.

Here, HPS is stating that doing affirmations 18 times and strengthening the planet under attack will offset its effect. Sun square also works. I’ll appreciate it if there is anything I missed and you can add to offset Saturn’s negative effects.

I hope I'm remembering correctly, don't retrogrades turn things inward as well? I wonder, if it might be possible to at least upgrade those parts of your natal Saturn that impacts the inner self during that time... if that makes sense. I'm not really familiar with retrograde effects, but is this a possible approach?

I'm guessing it also wouldn't be wise to start a Saturn Square during the retrograde period. I noticed that when Mercury goes retrograde on the calendar, the square is not listed for those 3 weeks. So I guess it must be the same for other squares.

On the mention of Sun squares, can the energies of the Sun square be used to balance the energies of one's natal chart and bring them into harmony with each other? I have been trialing a similar idea regarding this with a Jupiter square to balance and harmonize the energies of an aspect my natal planet has with another planet. So far, there has been this push pull energy feeling where it will tip to one influence over the other and then rock back after a day or two, and bring to the surface any obstacles causing the imbalance between these placements. Kind of like a see-saw motion and then it levels itself out again in the middle once things are cleared away and worked through. It's been an interesting process.

Saturn moving from the 12th house to the 1st house resembles borning from ashes to me. It's magnificent and all but a tiny detail is the person has to die first. This is probably due to my experience with it. I'm sure with proper preparations and the knowledge one can go through it and evolve towards their best version without needless suffering.

A little unrelated to the topic, but can I ask you a question?

Can square spells be used on other people? For example, can I Mars square to make my boyfriend more lustful towards me?

Or can i do a Venus square to increase my lover's feelings for me?

They can with similar results but it has less power than the person doing it themselves sometimes by a lot.
