To clarify, the amount of blood doesn't matter....but does it have to come from my finger? Or can I use another body part instead? Like my leg or arm for example. I can't seem to muster the courage to poke my finger, but drawing
blood from my arm or leg is okay...

Otherwise, it might be okay. But the rest of us manage to poke our fingers...
It isn't easy. Blood is harder to get that way. But then maybe there is a reason
for using a finger? Because it is hard, it shows you have the will to do it.

Actually, it's been stated that menstrual blood contains spiritual energy (just as vaginal fluids and semen do), so it might actually be valid. It holds one's DNA too, so why not?

It's been very clearly stated by Maxine that the blood for the ritual must be completely fresh and uncontaminated!

Menstual blood is NOT completely uncontaminated, that is why it cannot be used for the dedication ritual!

The blood for the ritual needs to be 100% fresh and uncontaminated (must not contain any kind of other substances or fluids and be 100% pure blood)

Just make a small prick or cut in your finger or any other part of your skin and squeeze out some blood to write your name with and you are good.

No need to draw a lot or make a big cut, just a little it fine. When you do it right the tiny cut or prick won't even hurt at all and will close up in a minute or less.
