Question #702: Linux does it make any difference?

I walk normaly with my workphone around, on it we have to use microsoft apps (outlook etc). I know the enemy knows my identity because off certain events I did survive. I also can´t use a vpn on the phone because then I can´t connect to the company services (could use flight mode if I don´t use it). I use proton vpn on my privat laptop (windows) to access the forums. The forums are puplic. I mostly use the vpn so I can´t be sued if I write something that would be considered until now legal in the US.

I want to buy a new laptop I want to use for gaming and access the forums. I totally hate to give money to microsoft etc. But I have hardly any experience with linux. Because of work and workings I do not have much time to learn linux or gameing lol.

There is proabably no point in hiding my identity or location because off the reasons above. Would using windows 11 + proton vpn enouth to secure me from legal consequences?


Any learning linux guides for people with no knowledge I would gladly look into them. Thanks

I recomend you to use Linux if you don't use certain apps that do not support linux. Games maybe be problematic but please search protondb and you may want to use Fedora or popOS beacuse of their gpu support.

However, if you use your pc for your job you better stay in Windows. You should use firefox with extensions(ad guards, https support, google blocker etc.)
