i've always had a hard time gaining weight, it's always been easier for me to lose. my genetics really are that of a thinner person and there's not much i can do about it, but i'd really like to gain more weight. training and everything else just defines me, i still have thin thighs/ arms... everything thin . my problem is that i'd like to gain weight as well to fill out some areas, like my wrists and ankles which are extremely thin. i honestly feel cadaverous, i've lost weight recently and it brings me down even more.
isn't there some magic I can do to at least help with food or even exercise? I can't eat a pile of food like I used to and even then I didn't gain weight. I want to feel more confident in my body and I think this will help me.
(If I gain any weight, it all goes to my belly)
I'm 19 and female. I'm what would be considered a petite woman (I'm never given more than 14-15 years, I want to look like a real woman)

You can go to a gym and watch your diet. Instead of a carbohydrate-only diet, you can follow a diet in protein, etc. to gain weight. Because it is both healthier and supports muscle development. Hatha yoga is also very beneficial for muscle development.

When it comes to weight gain, it's all about calories in and calories out.

The muscles in the forearm are made larger by training the grip strength in your hands. Things like turning wrenches, turning screwdrivers, or squeezing that spring thing that is made to train grip strength. As this muscle becomes larger, it will start near the elbow, but it will spread down also toward the wrist.

The muscle in the ankles is the same. It really is the calf muscle, and it will mostly grow higher up. But as it grows, it will spread down toward the ankles. You can exercise this by walking in a different way. Like when you walk, using the back foot to lift yourself up and push yourself forward, so all of your weight is standing on the front part of your back foot. Walking like this will very quickly strengthen your calves.

I also want to say that if your goal is to look more attractive, all of this is unnecessary. Many people are very highly attracted to the type of body shape that you have and would consider you to be perfect.

Many women would give anything to have your body type. Don't be fooled by the media. A decade ago, everyone was starving themselves, and now they're getting implants everywhere on their body to look bigger. There is no "one universal ideal perfect body type".

Focus on feeling healthy. That's what matters. Wear clothes that flatter your body, and know that many people are attracted to your body type, as Ol Argedco mentioned above.

Hey, how strange is it that you've described me and I'm 19 years old. I suffer from the same problem and I seriously don't gain weight. I couldn't find a solution either and it's seriously messing up my psychology.

Just do some workout and yoga, and you'll be fine. Eat normally and healthy, eat meat primary, and fruits, veggies as a side dish. Eat simple things like what our ancestors would eat. Don't eat fast-, prepacked-, processed food. Cook with 100% virgin olive oil or fat.
Don't have your breakfast from the bakery like a normal teen would do.

Drink a lot of water, as much as you can, preferably some sort of cleaned water. You probably need 2x more than what you drink now. Have a big plate of food for lunch, a bit less for breakfast, and a bit more less for dinner.

And etc. There is a lot of things wrong with what we eat. If you do everything right, and you still look like this, than just start accepting what you are and that body is completely healthy and natural. There might be cycles where you gain weight, than loose it, and this repeats.
Depends on how much you workout and in what way, you can grow muscles anywhere because everyone can. The exact look will be decided by your genes but you can grow muscles regardless. But a woman doesn't necessary have to be muscly, neither on the backside or hips or thighs or whatever.
