Question #4792: Mercury Square for Intellect

I was thinking of a potential affirmation for a Mercury Square: "In a positive and happy way for me , all my intellectual abilities, including my memory, are becoming expanded and strengthened." Mercury in Gemini is coming around June 3rd in my area and I wonder if the material square and affirmation is the most appropriate method since it affects the physical body? I thank and appreciate the input, time, and constructive criticism given here by all of you in advance!! I have an afflicted Mercury in my chart and it's one of my rulers , for better and for worse...

I wanna write something here that may help you and others out a bit, although it isn't exactly related to the question or affirmation.

In the past I have noticed that when I use planetary energies for an afflicted planet, its usually the Opposite zodiac sign that gives me the best noticeable results for fixing the planet's energies in my soul.

To give an example of what I mean here:
Say someone has an afflicted Mercury, as in having Mercury placed in its detriment sign of Pisces. Then using a Mercury square while Mercury is in Virgo should definitely give strong results. This is just a little something that I have noticed throughout my time of using planetary energies.
If you have a planet in its detriment or fall sign, you can usually fix it the best by using the opposite sign in the chart.
But this is just from my own personal experience. Everyone's soul is different and planetary energies can produce different results for everyone.

That mantra is too long to be of any benefit. You don't need to invoke the energies of 12 Gods all at once. Energies are spread too thin.

2 are sufficient, even 1 depending on the situation. Budha is covered by the Mercury square. Sarasvati fits well if one wants to use a second one. Intelligence in this case requires the spiritual mantra, not the material one.

By intelligence you mean analytical-mathematical abilities, something rational? You know, intelligence is a stretchable concept and all chakras and planets have intelligence, of a specific kind.

In addition to Mercury quadratus (in your case perhaps material, through the physical body and analytical abilities) I would advise you to add runes or Sanskrit for vibration for regular work, so efferent.

From runes for analytics are good: Mannaz, Kennaz, Sowilo, Dagaz, Reda. From Sanskrit, possibly use the epithets Saraswati and Budha.

Here are the mantras, practised and tested them, really be moderate in their use, I will shorten them on purpose for safety, it can be powerful, start better with runes.

There is no invocation of the Gods here at all. Saraswati and her spheres are the seed of power, not a being like the Demons. Saraswati is an expression of the power of nature, a gift placed by Satan in the human soul to realise things beyond the standard intellect to evolve.

Mythological Gods are not just allegories, there is real power in them which likens the soul to the sublime. But that doesn't mean that it's acceptable to treat the power without respect or in a consumerist manner, there are levels of initiation and understanding here.

It is not at all about the duration of the mantras, they have a different purpose. Not all mantras are used in the same way, for example there are mantras that are used for chakras in JoS materials, they are taken from svacchanda tantra and they are called tantrika, they create an accumulating effect. You gave such a one as an example.

Mantras, as I wrote above, are called stotram (hymn), their purpose is to reveal awareness and in such a small dose they are safe. It's useful.

Yes there are levels of initiation
So I suggest going beyond what you read in books into actual experience.

Stotras are reserved to group rituals and brahamana duties. Not for the average person.

About all the shlokas, no, not all are mantras, most of the text is narrative, explaining how to perform the ritual, praising attributes, character qualities and pointing out how to focus on the astral image.

But among this one, mantras are really and specifically mentioned.

You can take into account the phonetics of the language, the document lays it out sufficiently, just remember that this is vibrated, not chanted as most do. It's more mind and energy work here.

In terms of, meditate on the energies raised and you will see what I mean, your visions will coincide very closely with Saraswati's descriptions. But visions are only narrative. You need to connect with the force and become like it. If you don't have visions, don't imagine, still mantras will advance you with practice.

Don't forget the affirmations, they are appropriate here.
