Some guy got into an argument with me for saying Western/Tropical is more accurate than Sidereal astrology. And when I did his reading in Sidereal he said it was very accurate. He said Western/Tropical ruined his life, and he's making it one of his missions to destroy it lol. Another chick also was backing him up who apparently did Astrology for 10+ years and said Western/Tropical was bogus and abandoned it in favour of Sidereal. She said something about astronomy, and it being alignment with the way we observe the planets in astronomical systems or something along those lines.

Why are they saying this?
Why do they believe Sidereal is more accurate?
Is there some fundamental difference between Western/Tropical as it is understood in the JoS vs. outside of this context?

Claiming that tropical zodiac needs to be destroyed is just as stupid and extreme as claiming that vedic/sidereal system is totally bad and useless in any aspect of it. It's totally clear that such people (in either side!) were not studying deeply astrology (western or vedic, or both) or have no real understanding.

Actually, it is absolutely NEEDLESS to argue over it anyways, as both can be used quite well but yes, not exactly in the same way!

I also have been studying astrology, especially vedic astrology for long years and I could write pages why it is very good and can be quite exact (for example nakshatras etc) but on the other hand there are also "flaws" in it, as some members here already tried to explain it in former topics.
I think there was a quite good post/reply from someone earlier who explained which part of is correct and which is not.
Similar with Western astrology.

And as others also said it's recommended to be careful with many astrological websites etc, as they are often full of stupid bullshit, disinfos etc...
