Hey, I have an account, it's Def1ler. I wrote a thread today about another thread that disappeared out of nowhere:

But this one doesn't even appear among the new threads page, it feels odd. Am I shadowbanned or something? I don't want to spam threads and I don't want to use Ask-Satan for this kind of crap since I revealed my identity in the first sentence. Please bring back the anonymous question I posted, or at least tell me why it disappeared all of a sudden when other anonymous posts older than this one are still up. There were some great answers there and I didn't save them. If you have an archive that is also fine.

No one get´s shadowbanned here, sometimes a post can't get through or is not approved. Just ask again.

People have very recently started to uphold some standards for the anonymous service. You use your account to reply, so it is not a use for the anonymous service because you are not hiding what your account is. You should have posted the question yourself with your own account. Just like you should have posted this one with your own account.

Upholding some basic rules and standards is not shadow banning.

I did not have an account when posting the question, I thought I could reply to my own question using the anonymous service. Still, you're right that it defeated the purpose of the service, and it was a bad usage of it, just like right now. I did try to raise a question about what happened to the thread using my account, but as I said, when I asked with my account, the question did not even appear in the new forums page, so nobody answered (that's why I thought I was shadowbanned). If I started spamming threads, I would get bashed for it, and if I used the anonymous service like this, I would get bashed for it, too, so it didn't really matter what I did.
Still, deleting the thread was not a right move, in my opinion. A fair warning would've been sufficient. Karnnonos spent a lot of time writing a huge essay and it got nuked because I just replied to my own thread? Besides, there have been members that are easily identifiable using the anonymous service and I don't see their threads deleted:

Everyone knew this was Dragonheart, and it is still up. Wouldn't this be just as pointless as what I did? Not to blame Dragonheart or anything, this was the first example that came to mind.
Or this dude:

And his threads are still up. Sure, he didn't answer using his own account, but there have been instances of my case that are still up, too:

This guy made a throwaway, which is even worse. That looks like a bit of an excuse. I would expect to see this thread deleted in a few days, too then. In the meantime, I will insist. I just want the thread back.

When you post a topic, it will not show up immediately. You need to wait for a moderator to approve it, and then it will appear publicly in the new topics.

I agree other people have abused the system extremely worse than anything you did, and you have not done anything as bad as some others. But basically those people have worn down everybody's patience to the point that policy enforcement has had to change and become stricter for everyone.

I do think that deleting the thread wasn't the right move here.

It didn't appear in the new topics after moderator approval, I know that there is a little greyed out section that says I need to wait for approval right after I post a thread, it surprised me that it didn't appear after it had been approved. I looked through tye new posts up to like 6 or 7 pages deep and nothing. At least it appears in the search. While I still don't buy it when it comes to the policy change, I don't think I can do anything to get it back at this point. I'm still skeptical. The topic might not have been pleasant. Thanks for answering, though.

It could be a bug. I and shadowcat had replies disappear before.

Are you aware of anything like this happening?

Sonne, how is it that anything I post in any time of the day or night, you immediately see it and like it less than a minute later? Are you a computer program?
I have turned on all the notifications that can be turned on in the forums, so I get notifications for every post, and I really like your posts, that's all. 😄
