I have a lot of hard negative aspects to my 1st house and every single one is a square, opposition or inconjunct, with a singular quintile.What should I do to fix this? It must be highly detrimental to my life, right? Is this considered negative karma? Please and thank you.

Depends on what exactly you're talking about. Generally there are two sides of the same coin, something can either be "highly detrimental" or highly beneficial, depending on how you approach the planetary energies. The first house is the most important house as it represents who you are as a person, your body, your personality, how you approach life and so on. Naturally, these negative aspects you speak of, will reflect into these affairs. There isn't a one-size-fits-all answer to your question. Astrology is very complex and you may have different things going on simultaneously and you'd need to target different influences.

Different things require different procedures. You generally would want to perform the squares for the afflicted planets with an affirmation that would program them to manifest in an healthy and harmonious way, Munka workings can also be done to target afflicted areas of your life. Or workings with runes for specific purposes. You can also empower the chakras associated with the afflicted planets, again using squares or runes. It is also wise to implement changes in the physical world. Say for example you have aspects that may damage your health, then you should have an healthy diet, exercise frequently, look into super foods and herbs that will boost your health, get checked up by a doctor frequently to make sure nothing new is happening... you get the idea; while you target the issue spiritually as well.

It really depends on what you mean by negative.

All planets alone have a "dual" effect.

A Saturn in the 1st house can bring bad luck as well as success, this will depend a lot on the person in question and the rest of the chart.
