I am a long term member and am very dedicated towards my advancement in all aspects.

Often I see some posts that say either drinking occasionally is not condoned, and others that say it is alright to have a drink here and there. I'm looking for a solid clarification.

I'm well versed on alcohol as a substance being poisonous in certain dosages and that it is bad when consumed to a certain extent as well.

I'm confused based on the wide variance of views regarding this when this is mentioned in the forums.

I'm not saying in the case of alcoholics, or people with a drinking problem.

I mean when it comes to someone who is a productive Satanist and very dedicated in the path, having a couple drinks on the weekend or something with a friend every once in awhile.

I'm not trying to start a debate or condone anything, I simply like to have a few drinks here and there and want some realistic insight into this.

Not just some reply that I'm going to spiritually die with giant holes in my aura or something rather exaggerated. Or that my kundalini will never ascend or that all my senses will close or something.

If the reality is as well is that this should be just strictly stopped completely for advancement. Then I fully understand that and will implement that for myself as I have no attachment to this.

It's just something I indulge in as I enjoy it every once in awhile.

It is damaging no matter the dose, or frequency. That being said, a dose or two here or there has a minimal negative impact, but it is negative in essence regardless. The amount of a person being able to "tank" the damage depends on the makeup of their soul - people with a more earthy and fiery disposition are able to handle it better in physical terms.

Henu gave you a good answer.

You can have a great time without alcohol and instead of having a drink and wasting your money you can look for some healthy alternative that will give you something good.

This is just a difference of people's opinions. There is no doubt that alcohol is bad for you.

My opinion is that a small amount like a couple beers on a special occasion is not going to do any permanent or lasting damage. Drinking large amounts or too often will do much more damage and it could become permanent. But a small amount that is not often, you will heal from this and you will be fully recovered in 1 or 2 or 3 days, depending on your overall health and things like that. Why drinking too often is so bad is because the body is always trying to heal from it and never gets a break, so the immune system becomes depleted and leads to other sicknesses.

And the other thing I can say is that an ice cold water out of the fridge is a thousand times more refreshing and more enjoyable than any kind of cold beer. Especially if you have been working hard.

I mean Pan and Dionysus are aspects of Satan plus a standard ritual involves optimally wine in the chalice. I personally do not have a habit of drinking alcohol but that's mostly because of growing up in a Muslim family. Don't take it as an encouragement to drink but there is also no point in turning it into a ''sin''

Pammy and Ol said the best answers.

Having even 2 beers each weekend has shown to have some negative impact but having a drink or two like once or twice a month or less than that hasn't shown any lasting negative impact.

Alcohol is a drug, and like any other drug, the damage it causes depends largely on the dose and delivery.

It will always be toxic in any amount due to the metabolites created from ethanol(notably aldehydes which are known carcinogens). But it is more harmful to drink constantly, or drink alot in a short period of time, or to drink on an empty stomach, because the drug is absorbed rapidly and is more stressful on the body to clear out. Drinking constantly can make you dependent and can lead to dangerous withdrawal symptoms like seizures.

If you're athletic or interested in fitness then be aware that alcohol also interferes with recovery and protein synthesis.

There is no prohibition against drinking in Satanism. Opinions on alcohol here are strong. You're an adult and you're free to make your own choices, but drink responsibly. Don't do things after drinking that will put others in danger, like driving, and always keep in mind that your decision making ability will be altered. Read about harm reduction practices and treat alcohol like a drug, because it is one.

If you decide to drink then I suggest drinking something quality. I find that they feel less toxic than cheap and premixed drinks, and they have a more pleasant taste anyway.

This.

You've received great answers by some already.

There are two reasons why you get different answers by different people:
 Personal opinion
 In Spiritual Satanism, we have freedom of choice on how to live our lives. The difference with NPCs is that, in many cases, we also know the consequences of our choices, we accept these consequences and we hold ourselves accountable for them.

In my posts I usually raise awareness about the issues related to alcohol, to obviously influence people's choice in a positive direction. That doesn't mean that anyone is obligated to embrace my suggestions.

As for drinking "wine" or whatever during rituals, that's allegorical. If you look at the advanced ritual information on JoS, it will explain what everything is exactly for.

4. Drinking from the chalice is the energy buzz. The chalice, the cup...the Grail; all of these are allegories for the chakras as are “the gates.” This is to sit quietly for a few minutes to make sure you get a powerful energy buzz, which will enhance the working.

Source: Advanced Satanic Ritual

This what advanced ritualists do, rather than drink from a chalice. In fact, it is not advisable to drink alcohol during a ritual, as the focus should be fully on the objective of the ritual. Drinking alcohol affects concentration negatively. If you want to drink something, it's better to drink juice or something like that. Water, especially alkaline water, is even better.

Also, Gods of wine and similar alcoholic drinks are allegories related to the ambrosia/nectar/amrita, the female part of the elixir produced by the pineal gland, which is collected in the solar plexus chakra (i.e. the allegorical "grail" or chalice from the explanation above).

You are free to have the occasional drink. Judging by your OP you are responsible regarding this, so there's nothing more for me to add.
