So I have a little bit of a problem, I like to have 1-2 alcoholic drinks after work. But, I'm trying to develop discipline to actually keep on meditation more. This has been going on like this for months. I believe my main issue is lack of discipline, which is leading to being lazy. So I want to kind of develop some kind of plan where if I'm going to drink, it'll be after I meditate. I don't wanna risk having alcohol withdrawals since I've been drinking everyday for months. Not a ton but it needs to stop, like I said 1-2 drinks a day. Thank you, Hail Satan. Any help is appreciated.

Well, a weak drink occasionally won't have a huge impact on your spiritual development, but try to lessen the amount in time until you are able to quit safely.

You could search for a book on quitting alcohol by Allan Carr.

Hello :)

After a hard day's work, you can do 5-10 minutes of yoga to stretch it all off, then meditate, and feel much better than alcohol will make you feel.

Plus, it's free! So think of all that money you will save, that you are currently spending on alcohol. You can save up the money, and treat yourself to a nice vacation or something fun.

Here you have the magic work for discipline:

Working For Self-Discipline
START: Waxing moon in Capricorn. Never start this working during the void of course noon.

1. Raise your energies: https://archive.fo/nLuwC
2. Vibrate EIHWAZ or NAUTHIZ 40 times, 100 times or 216 times.
3. Affirm 9 times:
“My self-discipline is completely increasing in a healthy and positive way for me forever.”

Do this everyday for 40 days, 80 days or 90 days.

You can develop self-discipline many ways.

 Void, and flame meditation
 Physical workout
 Cold shower (for not too long, and not cold bath! it should not be too could but cold enough so that it's hard to stand it. Around 10 degree Celsius. Try to stand it emotionless.)
 3 seconds trick (count to 3 in your head, and without any thinking, or deciding, go and start whatever you want. For example, you count to 3 and put the drink back in to the fridge. For another example, you need to cut the grass, but the chair feels better, count to 3 and hop up, and start walking towards the lawnmower. When you execute your will, void your mind and turn off any thoughts, so that it can't stop you.)

These are just few, there might be much more things which you can develop self-discipline with. Good luck, stay strong!

The reason most people drink usually isn't because they enjoy it, it is out of "necessity" as it helps them quiet their minds and forget the stresses of work and life. It's like you come home but your head is still buzzing with endless thoughts about whatever and you've had a long day and can't take it anymore, so a drink can "dissolve" all those thoughts. The only thing it really does is make you numb and take away your mental faculties, you have only covered up the problem, it will come back stronger the next day.

The thing is, you can get rid of all that mental noise through meditation, and the next time you reach for the bottle you would think to yourself "I actually feel pretty good right now, I don't want to ruin it" and not have that drink.

Daily alcohol consumption is detrimental to spiritual advancement and will only set you back. Confront the problem, that is the only way to move forward.

The real question is does alcohol improve your life?

Alcohol is not good and is deleterious to health. There is nothing to be gained from it.

If you listen to my advice, cut out alcohol and devote yourself to something else. When you get home after work, instead of drinking why don't you try yoga and stretching? It is much more helpful.

Try to correct this habit of yours.
