Post My natal Saturn is in Cancer, while my Venus is in the fourth house. One indicates a disruptive lifestyle without any permanence in living, the other, a stable and content living situation.

Another example, and the one that worries me most, is my natal Mars which is simultaneously in Pieces and the first house. They are complete opposites of each other. What does this mean?

Saturn IS a very oppositional energy to Cancer. But you have to take each element and boil it down to what is relevant in your life. A lot of these things, especially with Jupiter and Saturn where the energies are more generational in the signs, can boil down to symbolic elements. Like with Saturn and Cancer, being born in an old house, which sometimes could be so delapidated it forces someone to move. The Venus aspect will likely give you a lot of stability here and take the edge off of some situations.

I personally find it to be a huge misconception that Pisces is the 'opposite' of Mars. The semi-sextile, female vs male sign and element difference does mean their energy is very different, but there are important similarities between Pisces and Aries, just as Virgo and Libra overlap in areas. While Pisces tends to tolerate abuse, is compassionate and lacks in confidence unlike Aries, both signs can be very excessive, off-putting and self-oriented as they relate to parts of the chart that have to do with the self, isolation and rectifying behaviors here. Both signs also like to perform.

Pisces being the feminine side of Jupiter also has a lot in common with its trine sign Scorpio which is the feminine side of Mars.

Mars in Pisces in the 1st can make someone elusive and moody. They tend to have a certain creative flair and can get easily hurt which can provoke conflict. Channeling intuition, ideals and feelings tends to be the way they push themselves into action. The First House aspect can help offset a lot of the shyness problems with Pisces but this can also deal with cycles of getting into high pressure situations that can limit freedom. The best way to offset some of the worst aspects of this placement is to be analytical.
