I understand where you are coming from. But I wasn't going to tell the Original Poster not to read "The Satanic Bible", (I don't have the right to tell anyone not to read or do something)only that Joy of Satan was better to read and study from. 
But how was he going to know that unless he did not read it and had JoS to compare it to?
Also, I was assuming that he was a newbie. A lot of people come to Satan through "The Satanic Bible" as a gateway book. It's not the best introduction but it's one that appears in bookstores every so often, so people pick that up first out of interest. Later, they search for Satan and Satanism on the Internet and come to JoS. Which is awesome.

Satansdemons, if you read most of Maxine's sermons, you would see that LeVey's book is the
one of the first Satanic books she ever read. It was after that, that Father Satan came to her.


She did find some useful things in it. Albeit, it is not the path we follow. We love and follow
Father Satan, but hey, there is more than one way to get here.
