So, I've been on the hunt for a Delphic tripod; here is a link to an etsy post of one that is $600+ (YIKES, expensive lolol) so you guys can see what I'm talking about:
A while back, I posted about an outdoor ritual area I am going to plan out and make in my backyard, featuring a firepit in the shape of the Star of Astaroth. Upon researching for decorative yet functional pieces I can add to the area, I came across Delphic tripods. The Oracle of Delphi used these, hence the name. I am not quite sure what they were used for, but from the material it's made of (fire-resistant metal) and the look of it, it seems like it was a burn bowl to burn herbs and offerings in, or to put liquid inside of it to use as a scrying mirror; it was probably used for a number of things, these are just my guesses based off it's appearance.
I found another listing on Etsy of someone who makes something similar, and it's waaay more affordable: ($99)
Another thing I've thought to do, which would probably be most affordable, is to buy an iron plant stand and buy a big iron/metal bowl to just put on top of it.
Does anyone have any suggestions for what else I could do? I've even thought of just taking a tree stump, and carving out a semi sphere shape out of the top, and laying a metal bowl into the top. With the tree stump option, I could even take a woodburning tool, or just a knife and carve runes/sigils/glyphs into it for the Gods and Goddesses we venerate.
The whole reason why I'm posting this here is because when I posted my firepit idea, you guys really stepped in and helped me with ideas and little details I can incorporate into the area. I really value everyone's opinion here, as you guys have been so helpful to me and others anytime we need it. We truly have an amazing community here at JOS
