oh dear, no it will not explode
Do you compare this event to reactorexplosion in Tschernobyl?
The reactortype in Japan and in Tschernobyl are completely different,
sorry but i think my englishskills are not enough to explain it here
The Tschernobyl reactor exploded because of human error, they deactivatet the mechanic savety precautions on their own, and because of the different buildingtype of the reactors, hydrogen was produced and it ignited by the nuclear fire and because of this the whole reactor exploded.
(Look up in wikipedia, my englishskills are too bad to explane it here properly)
Japan has set the scale to seven, because this level means that it is now out of control, but this doesnt mean that it will explode, unless they pump more water to cool the reactor.
The heat in the reactor could split water in hydrogen and oxygen, and again like in Tschernobyl it would explode because of the hydrogen.
I hope they wont do that.
The only thing they can do is wait ... the reactor will burn itself through the whole ground I think ^^
The radioactiv emission is by the way only about 1% of the emission in Tschernobyl, so it wont be as fatal as now in Japan.
Tough it is bad enough that this came so far ... by the way the reactors in USA are likely as unsafe as the ones in former Sowjetunion
I hope one day the world will change ... one day

i read that the scale was at a seven so basically the nuclear plant will explode. Omg how will this affecth environment?
