I am an addict in recovery and part of my program I use to stay clean is to “live life on life’s terms”. They teach us to not give in to our will and pray and meditate for knowledge of my our higher powers will and the power to carry that out. What’s everyone’s take on this? I feel very drawn to this form of spirituality but in the context of what I wrote it seems to oppose what I’m taught in my program of recovery. I would really appreciate some advice. Thank you.

Hi, I really wish you the best of luck in regaining control of your life! :D

Regarding your post: A person's will should not go against the will of Satan and vice versa Satan's will never goes against the will of the person.

"[...] nor do I deprive them that are my own and that obey me of anything that is good for them" - Satan

If someone thinks that their will goes against that of Satan it may be because their will is currently "wrong" (i.e. it leads to self-destructive or dangerous behavior for society) and therefore should be corrected, or due to an error in interpretation of Satan's will or even both.

We humans and Satan and the Gods are on the same side and work as a family to support each other in the most positive ways. What is good for Satan in accordance with his will will also turn out to be good for the Satanist (for example: Satan wants us to make the world a better place, but if you live in a better world you too will be better and happier).

Likewise, what is good for the Satanist is also good for Father Satan. If in the family a father fixes a wall or his wife changes a faulty light bulb, it is the whole family who gains and not just the husband or wife.

[Concerning those who only care about themselves and see Satanism as a religion only for the self and disregard Satan]
"They are of no importance to me." -Satan

They teach us to not give in to our will

It's not a matter of your will. Your will is to feel good and be healthy, happy and capable of improving yourself. Addiction to drugs or alcohol (I don't know specifically what concerns you, and out of respect for your privacy I wouldn't even want to know, but I won't need to know to answer you) is not part of your will, rather it is a chain that binds you to something that is not your will and NEVER has been.

and pray and meditate for knowledge

On this site you will find REALLY effective meditations and real magic methods. Sacred things that come directly from the Gods and which can also be used as support for a recovery and detoxification attempt:

There are also Gods who help with this type of thing. Demons like Buer for example ("Demon" means "divine being" in ancient Greek. It is a synonym).

I advise everyone not to underestimate the guidance of the Gods in our lives. At the beginning of my journey into Satanism, I prayed to Satan telling him: "if you see that I have a problem, even a serious one, and you know that I can deal with it alone, please do not help me solve it, but give me the guidance and knowledge necessary to succeed with my own strength."

Satan and the Gods guide us, this can also happen with simple coincidences, intuitions or new ideas. It is extremely useful.

what I’m taught in my program of recovery

If the specific recovery program is to worship that very Christian god, then they are just trying to replace a substance addiction with another form of (Christian-submissive) slavery. This is just shifting the issue, but praying and meditating is NOT in itself an "anti-Satanic" evil.

About prayers to the Gods:

About meditations:

Meditations:

Magic:

I think that a recovery program of right forms of prayer to the Gods and right forms of meditations from the Gods can only concretely HELP your noble goal.

I would also like to leave you some links to sermons that can help your situation:

And I also want to mention to you some important things that come from our High Priestess Lydia on another similar topic:

Hello :)

Contact Buer, ask Him for help. Valefor's power ritual can also help. And know that we are all rooting for you to permanently kick this addiction :)

Read also this:

You are actually DOING YOUR BEST to free yourself from the addiction. It's a beautiful thing you're doing and it puts you concretely on the right path to succeed even with the help of the Gods!

Sincere congratulations and good luck! In the end this ugly chain that is gradually crumbling will finally break. That's it, it will happen if you keep putting in the effort and have the right knowledge. HAIL SATANAS!

I'll be blunt: your "recovery program" seems to be a variation of the "12 step program" which was invented by a fundamentalist Christian. Not only its teachings are disempowering and suicidal, it doesn't even work. There has been much written about this online: its success rate is less than 5%, meaning it has less than 1 in 20 chance to work for you.

There are alternative secular recovery programs that use cognitive therapies and have 1 in 2 chance to work or even more.

You can search for and find better options for recovery. Don't be fooled. Do your research.

Thank you so much for taking the time to educate me. I’m very grateful.

Rechecking my response, I noticed that I quoted a sermon by HPS Lydia that I quoted to you incorrectly in the sense that the link I put leads to one of her replies and not to the main sermon. I apologize for the error and provide the right link, thanks for your patience, please read it, it is extremely useful and completely completes the answer I gave you:

Al Jilwah: Chapter IV

"It is my desire that all my followers unite in a bond of unity, lest those who are without prevail against them." - Satan
