In here, everybody knows this fact. But let me elaborate and specify, so people who didn't see main issue yet can understand as well.
Modern time, which live at present, is called falsely "Information Age". Partially it's true, accessing to information is much easier, but people is still lazy to think. For ratiocinating, nothing changed really, at least it's what I see.
The thing that has changed is what people chose to believe. For an example, people in Medieval Ages believed whatever their local priest said. For now, it's so called science. "Data" is all people value. They do not really want to take one step back and think. The next level of that is this dialogue:
-Hey sir, we are breathing.
+Oh yeah, what's the source for it?
It's absurd, but humanity going towards this scenario. The source and data changed. It was priest and bible back then, now it's scientist and his article. You can apply this to many things. But let us get back to the subject. Even in wisdom of Gods, applying knowledge is main idea. You can know ancient wisdom or meditations, but when they are not applied by one's self, one can't take the availments of them.
Let's think two historian. Both of them know history well. They have accurate datas and so on. But one of them chooses to use his mind and wants to explain why events manifested as they had. Other just knows, and that's satisfying him.
Or let's think two generals. One applies what he learned in war academy, and the other always makes moving of his units according to situations. At one point, the general who used his mind will be much better and defeat other one. Because situations always changing, and some circumstance that has not mentioned in instructions might manifest. One general trained his mind, and the other relied on instructions.
I hope I stated clear what I mean. It was always about ratiocinating. Unfortunately even some higher than average IQ people don't want to use their brain. They want to learn, but only what's given to them. Neither things beyond it, nor relating what they got, they don't want to bother to think for these.
In a cognitive level like this, people will not want to listen what you say. In the sum, the only way to make this people to use their brain is doing RTRs. It's not like they are stupid or something like that, they just do not want to take these cognitive actions.
After arguing a friend of mine, I realized these facts. But still, there is hope. I also see a lot of nationalist people nowadays. Our world keeps going better and better.
Thanks for reading.
